We are four classically-trained musicians who draw great inspiration from artists of Hip-Hop, R&B, and Soul genres. Our mission: to fundamentally reshape the way string quartets make music. 

In the world of string playing, rhythmic genres like Hip-Hop, R&B, and soul music have been neglected and underutilized by composers and arrangers. By employing advanced extended techniques to produce percussive sounds prevalent in these genres, wholesoul aims to codify a new sound and language for the traditional string quartet.
