TOR and the When We Dip team proudly continue the label’s signature release series with the third edition of the Tales of Romance VA. As we continue to set the foundations of TOR’s sound and creative direction, this series showcases the pillars of the imprint in the years to come, and provides an explorative platform for our family of producers.

Rashid Ajami makes his TOR debut with our A-side on the project- Music is my Medicine. Through work with the likes of Maya Jane Coles and Atjazz, the Londoner has built a sterling reputation with releases on Get Physical, Einmusika, Anjunadeep, and Tale & Tone. A meandering piano melody opens the show, as the synth lead and bassline build to welcome a vocal offering fit for the times.

Nostaligenta is a fantasy planet. A place that beckons us and lives in our dreams but we’ve never been there. For Ready In Led Nostaligenta is the image of 80’s era. She hasn’t witnessed the triumphant sound of Giorgio Moroder, the wave of British synth-pop of the new wave, but this era and it’s sound today serve as the main creative guideline for her. 

The plot of the song develops around a journey to this mysterious planet. Meanwhile, the artist’s new look is partly inspired by Barbarella. At the climax of Nostaligenta singer repeats two lines “Who can save the Universe? Who takes sex to outer space?”. These phrases were advertising slogans on the posters for the release of Roger Vadim’s movie about the adventures of Barbarella. The Ready In Led’s universe is full of such references and symbols. 'We are happy to share this bootleg remix we did for Nick Mulvey´s „Dancing For The Answers“. It will not be officially released and only shared exclusively with friends and family.

We saw a couple of Nick Mulvey's concerts in Barcelona during 2018. We fell in in love with Nick's music and played around with it in the studio and came up with the idea of this Squire & Karcelen Remix.

Nick Mulvey is a well known singer and songwriter from the UK. He was a founding member of the band Portico Quartet. In 2011 he started his solo career releasing the EPs "The Trellis2 and "Fever to the Form". In 2014 his studio album "First Mind in 2014“ came out and received a Mercury Music Prize nomination. His second album, Wake Up Now, was released on 8 September 2017.
His new album is coming out this year!

We are happy to share this special remix from Squire & Karcelen exclusively with you. We met Nick at one of the concerts where he hand over the stems of "Dancing for the Answers".
This is the outcome of the fun project and we hope you like it as much as we do.
