Premiere: Batu 'Other Means'

W133 starts the year with a brand new release by Ulm’s producer Kid Kun. He delivers four hard-hitting techno/bass hybrids complemented by a remix from No Sir, who returns to the label after an appearance on W133001.

"Gaslight," the title-giving track of the EP, immediately sets the tone for the release. Dark atmospheres and sci-fi pads decorate the driving broken baseline and kick. After that, "Hypersonic," with a similar vibe but slightly more chill energy, grooves its way into your ears.
In the third position, we find the dancefloor smasher "Send Your Stuff Into A Modular System And Smile." It bursts with energy and pushes you forward with a distorted bass, hidden voices, and breaky drum patterns and will definitely make you smile. 
The last original track of the EP is "Inflict," another dark sub-frequency roller, this time with long melodic bassy pads and a spooky touch. 
On remix duties, No Sir delivers a playful interpretation of "Hypersonic," giving it some arpy high acid sounds with tripped-out rhythms!

PVLV returns to the label with the release of his second EP, ‘Lights Off’.

Ukraine DJ and producer follows last year’s ‘101A’ EP uses his love for UK club styles and soundsystem culture as a jump-off point for three mutated dancefloor slammers. The hallmarks that have shaped his sound to date are all here; nimble breaks and beefy sub bass plumes underpin glitchy melodies for an effect that’s as light as it is propulsive.

Starting off proceedings on the EP is the title track ‘Killah Tape’ establishes his sonic palette from the outset, with driving, high-energy drum work alongside stretched vocals chops.
Next up is ‘Hoodlum’, which layers breaks and throbbing grooves under an otherworldly, warped vocal for create dark, intense atmospheres.
While third track ‘Cave Walk’ slows the tempo to 107 bpm for a writhing techno-dancehall hybrid with weighty with some off-kilter synths and bass wobbles, it’s a testament to PVLV’s knack for a subtle curveball.

In the hollowness of this mystical embrace, "Etait Une" echoes through the corridors of the mind like an incantational winding road. We traverse the corridors of our thoughts. An acidic layer of intensity transports our senses. We enter the unknown blur of this cosmic dance that morphs the fabric of perception.

An ecstatic anticipation clings onto our lids. The morning dew drops when - suddenly - the road bends; the city of new beginnings has materialised and there she stands tall. Tuna B - the metropolis of neon lights and surreality. Our minds dissolve as the vocals take complete control of this symphonic madness.

Bait's first various EP format release 'Baby Steps' is an exploration of steppers: pounding four to the floor kicks, organic percs and an overall 'elephant march' feel. Featuring tracks by five French producers, Strasbourg-based @orchidj (half of @orplusbe with Bait founder @beatricemasters), Bruxelles-based Moriiiis J., most-known for his broken-beat project @Kuna-Maze, as well as @Quasardub, whose name is well established in the dubstep world with releases on legendary UK labels such as Artikal and Deep Medi to name a couple. @agonsound (Few Tips/Trajectoire) & @c-line-technorama (Technorama)'s collaboration opens a door towards the more abstract and contemplative side of bass music with influences such as Shackleton, perfectly closing 'Baby Steps' VEP.
