Born out of a lockdown night when their usual Saturday night plans were off limits, Defected regular Darius Syrossian and South Records boss George Smeddles decided to cook something up for the anticipated return to the club. With just a vocal to work with, they decided to produce something with the 90s, uplifting vibe dancefloors would be needing. Demonstrating the same addictive, dancefloor-ready grooves seen on their previous collabs like ‘Get Toast’ and ‘Blood Orange’, this latest joint venture once again delivers the heat. With its deep organ bassline, playful keys and irresistible 4/4 swing, this record oozes club appeal in a way you can only expect from producers rooted firmly in the scene. With his remix of Candi Staton's 'Halleluiah Anyway' on Defected one of the label's timeless anthems, German DJ and producer Larse's long-standing relationship with the London imprint has been paved by a number of striking tracks. Now after a string of remixes for the label, he makes his solo debut on Defected with 'A Part Of', continuing to demonstrate his adept production abilities on this warm, groove-filled, disco-inspired jam. Catching the attention of Simon Dunmore's A&R ears on its vinyl-only outing, it now gets a full digital release to continue its dancefloor journey.

Route 94 makes his Solid Grooves debut as he serves up his first original material for two years with the infectious grooves of 'Clapped'. 

Having broken through via a series of globally renowned anthems, Rowan Jones, aka Route 94, has been hard at work in the studio of late, taking time away to explore pockets of early influences across house, techno, minimal, disco and beyond. Unveiling his first original material for over two years, he makes his first appearance on Solid Grooves with his new single 'Clapped' - revealing a favourite of label co-founder PAWSA's and a staple track from his sets across the summer.

A vibrant energy-fuelled production harnessing soulful vocals, driving low-ends, skipping percussion and spiralling synths, 'Clapped' brings an abundance of vigour to showcase a production built for the peak time as Jones makes a big return in impressive fashion.

Solid Grooves Records co-founder Michael Bibi partners alongside KinAhau for 'Different Side', featuring genre-spanning electronic duo Audio Bullys. 

Needing little introduction for both track and artists involved, Solid Grooves opens 2023 with one of the most highly anticipated ID requests from founder Michael Bibi's sets across the past 18 months. An instantly recognisable production which has soundtracked nights at The Grooves Motel at DC-10 through to ELOVATE events across the globe in London, New York, Buenos Aires and Tulum, early March finally sees the release of 'Different Sides' as Bibi partners with emerging Mexican DJ/producer and Solid Grooves artist Kinahau for the impactful 'Different Side' - featuring UK dance mainstays Audio Bullys.

Harnessing iconic vocal from Audio Bullys' 2003 single 'We Don't Care', Bibi and Kinahau transport things into a new realm across 'Different Sides', employing skippy drums, icy hats and a menacing bassline - coupled with a few signature percussion fills - for a peak-time anthem loaded with energy.

Originating with HoneyLuv, made in collaboration with Tuskegee co-founder Seth Troxler, and featuring portions of Paul Johnson’s classic 1998 track ‘So Much’, ’Sex & The City' is HoneyLuv’s homage to one of house music’s greats and an encapsulation of Tuskegee Music’s ethos of honouring the genre’s Black & Hispanic origins. Detroit house legend Marc Kinchen’s interpretations of the track imbues Sex & The City with all the beloved MK touches, from the inimitable drum patterns to the instant-earworm melody.

The release marks the return of the label founded by Seth Troxler & The Martinez Brothers in 2014. In addition to music from its label heads, Tuskegee Music featured artists including Omar-S, Jamal Moss, K' Alexi Shelby, D-Knox and William Djoko before going into hiatus in 2019.  The label’s upcoming schedule will continue to focus on its remit of supporting BIPOC artists, through the elevation of new talent and collaborations with some of house & techno’s most important and influential figures.

After surging into the spotlight in 2022 via a series of high-profile collaborations alongside Lee Foss, CID, and Martin Ikin, UK-based DJ/producer Joshwa is looking to keep things moving for 2023 as an artist at the top end of Beatport’s top-selling tech house charts. Up next, late March brings a milestone release as he steps out on Hot Creations for the first time, delivering a pair of heavily requested and lively productions across his ‘Bass Go Boom’ EP.

Building on the success of her previous Defected release, which peaked at #20 in the UK Shazam chart following a 16-week stint on the KISS FM playlist and heavy rotation on BBC Radio 1, 'The One' continues to showcase Hannah's evolving production style. With an irresistible rolling feel, ARA provides an evocative top line that elevates the house cut to new dimensions, while Hannah's club expertise gives 'The One' its dancefloor sensibility.

This three-track package on DFTD celebrates the 10-year anniversary of 'Suddenly Funk' by Brazilian techno producer Renato Cohen; an addictive, squelching record full of character that incorporates elements of techno, acid and, of course, funk. Now a fresh remix from Ibiza knockout Andrea Oliva updates the classic for 2023 audiences; a rapid, persistent bass drills underneath the busy, acidic textures to create a club-ready cut bursting with energy. Accompanying the release is a remix from one of Amsterdam's finest techno producers, 2000 And One's Lo-Motion Funk Mix evens out the tempo, allowing the funk elements to come to the fore.
