Steam Powered Giraffe's very first album was originally released in 2009. By 2011, founding member Erin Burke (who played the robot Upgrade) had left the band to pursue other opportunities. Since the band only had one album at the time, during their 2011-2012 performances at the San Diego Zoo, the band decided to change this album to feature just the current robot lineup. This included new cover art, the removal of Erin Burke's vocals, and the replacement of the song "I Am Not Alone" with the song "Ice Cream Parade". 

This version features the original release of Album One as it was in 2009, with the robot Upgrade, her vocals, and her song "I Am Not Alone". It also includes the track Ice Cream Parade from the 2011 release as a bonus.

Aboard an enchanted steamboat, they head deep into a mystical south, finding Bog Spirits who boogie to twisted Zydeco tunes. From a decaying past, dieselpunk fables and crooning records melt with electric folk pop and psychedelic radiation to create the unique, yet timeless sound Steam Powered Giraffe makes.

That's right! Steam Powered Giraffe did music for the video game SteamWorld Heist. Rabbit, The Spine, and Hatchworth also make an appearance in the game, as themselves, entertaining their fellow robots in-game with their catchy tunes!

This album includes the SteamWorld Heist theme song created by the band, as well as 12 tracks, featuring 6 completely original songs written for the game, and 6 classic Steam Powered Giraffe songs, re-recorded to fit into the SteamWorld Heist game universe. Ever wanted to hear what an acoustic version of Automatonic Electronic Harmonics would sound like? Well the game and this album have one! We even have a version of Brass Goggles, with backing vocals sung by the entire game development team at Image and Form!

In the video game SteamWorld Heist you command a steam-driven pirate crew in a series of epic tactical shootouts. Inspired by classics like XCOM and Worms, SteamWorld Heist is turn-based strategy with a twist: You manually aim the guns of your robots, allowing for insane skill shots and bullet-bouncing action!
