THE HAUNTED KINGDOM is a roleswap AU centered around a kingdom of monsters trapped underneath a veil of darkness. Hearing legends of this haunted world, a brave human falls down into the kingdom and must brave the challenges ahead of them.

Napstablook takes the role of Asgore. They are the apathetic, lonely ruler of the underworld kingdom, but it wasn’t always like that.
They had high spirits long ago and ruled the kingdom happily with their cousin and former king (who later became Mettaton). After a tragedy involving the royal family’s friends led to a fallout between the cousins, Napstablook was forced to take the throne. Now they’re trying to fulfill the kingdom’s greatest desire: freedom from the land of shadows and revenge on humanity.
Many monsters speak of Napstablook in high regard, but others feel they don’t have it in them to free monsterkind. Considering they rarely, if ever, leave their palace, it’s possible they want to avoid disappointing their people by revealing their true feelings about humanity. Their internal struggle causes them more grief the longer it continues, and the more human SOULs are taken, the more pain they’ll feel at the end result.

Frisk swaps with Chara. They are the last human soul that the monsters need. A hope to their future. But they are determined to survive, and push through this kingdom of agressive monsters. But they are maybe friendly ones that they will face... we don't know. The book says only unkind ones...

The Snowman from Snowdin swaps with Flowey the flower! This is a very unique swap that no one used before, but only in one AU before it was deleted when it came out. They are still friendly, and by far more kind than Flowey. Just accept their snow piece, and then explore the underground with them.

Ruins swaps with Hotlands and the CORE. Asgore pretty much calls it Red Forest since it sounds cool to him, but other monsters call it as the "Crimson Valley". A pretty hot place only for plants and monsters that can survive the sauna.

Asgore swaps with Toriel. He has moved to the Crimson Valley, to improve with his gardening skills and help other monsters after his decision. His time is  very limited, because of helping others not only Chara. But whenever he can, he is helping you.

Air magic swaps with Fire. Yes, this is here. I never seen this swap, and so far i think its fun to work with. With the designs and everything else.

The long hallway in the Ruins swaps with the long laser bridge from the CORE. Here, it’s an old and rickety suspension bridge, and there’s a lot of water just below it. Can Chara make it to the other side before the bridge collapses?

After months of procrastination and creation of this track, it's finally here. The cover of Last Chance. I wish I could've finished it much earlier, but I'm happy with how this turned out. I hope you like this gift, Water, because you deserve it. One more thing: I know that lately, you haven't been in the greatest situation. I'd be lying if I said I knew how it was like to live a very problematic life. All I can do is provide support by saying stuff like, 'Things have been terrible for you, that I can see, but you wanna know something, Water? When I heard that you were finally able to get some help (like therapy), I was very happy to know you were getting the you needed. I was thinking of how you would search for help with your current situation, but with your gut to attend therapy sessions, my worries for you had lessened. In return for that, my faith in you had grown bigger. I know you said you haven't been able to interact with your peers in the ideal way, but I know that deep down, you're a good person who happens to be troubled. It's okay to make mistakes and not to be okay because I know you're able to improve yourself, buddy. You're capable to see the error of your ways and make amends for the actions you've done. Your feelings, worries and things like that? They're all real to me. I admit that I don't know how it is like to have anxiety, but I do know that it's not pretty, and that's okay. Howdy! It's me, Junnboi!

Alright, so, to summarize, the "Monster Forest" (Ruins) motif has been reworked, so consequently, a handful of other songs needed to be updated. By the time you're reading this, these have probably already been posted!

"Why did you change the motif?"

Originally, the motif in question was supposed to be a heavily modified version of the "Determination" motif from Undertale. However, the original version of Monster Forest REALLY didn't make that clear, and so the motif sounds almost original - which isn't a bad thing, but I personally grew to dislike it lol - so I felt compelled to remedy that. I'm happy to say I'm proud of the result, and can't wait for everyone to hear it!

"Will the old versions still be public?"

For the time being, they will be kept up, while I look for some way to archive them (Maybe I'll reupload them to my own alt...?). After enough time has passed, they will be deleted from this account and only the new versions will remain. But don't worry about the old ones, like I said, they WILL be reuploaded... eventually.

"What songs exactly have been updated?"

And as a bonus, we will also be uploading some NEW songs that include the Monster Forest motif ;)

Progressing a bit after the hallway will lead you to a path that has been barricaded by… presumably the remaining members of the Canine Unit. In order to proceed, you must tear through time and space once again near the wall, this will lead you to the outside of Frostmarrow Catacombs, a dead spruce forest. There is also some snow lying around… though, it isn’t your usual snow, as it gets reduced to some dust-like substance once stepped on. There are more enemies here that you MUST fight. At the end of this area, you can return to Frostmarrow Catacombs, with the aforementioned glitching method.
