The title alone sparks curiosity: Who is he calling? Who’s not answering? Across 12 tracks, Khaliq invites listeners into a deeply personal journey of navigating relationships—both with others and within himself.

With vivid storytelling and lyrical precision, the project explores the emotional landscape of grief—not in the context of death, but of losing love, identity, passion, and self. From the very start, Stage 1 sets the tone: denial. “As I sit here in my denial, I can’t find me a change of heart,” Khaliq confesses, anchoring the listener in a raw moment of emotional paralysis.

The energy shifts on IM HIM, featuring fellow Saint Paul native Kaleem The Dream, where Khaliq reclaims his power:
“Got some new teks, crib looking like silicon / Shoot up the high horse a n***a be sitting on.”

On Focus with Zhan, Khaliq peels back the layers of mental health struggles and clarity:
“I struggled with anxiety, was battling myself.”

Throughout the album, Khaliq grapples with nostalgia and longing. On SUMMER 09, he reflects on “the good ole days,” while songs like THE HUXTABLES and LETTER OF INTENT slow things down, opening space for accountability and self-examination.

In SUN SEEKER, Khaliq wrestles with validation, questioning whether his pursuits are driven by love or ego. On PRAISE and OXYGEN, he brings the message full circle—reminding us of the need for grace, and the importance of giving people their flowers while they’re here.
