Berlin-based Curses blends New Wave and Post-Punk with his ghostly vocals and guitars, punctuated with flashes of 80's EBM and New Beat. Whether it's performing as a live duo at the late Andrew Weatherall's Convenanza Festival, or DJng in the main room at Circoloco DC-10, Curses manages to bring his punk and wave energy dance floors small and big, always keeping true to his signature mix of a darker 80's sound.
A double vinyl compilation, NEXT WAVE ACID PUNX drops June 4th on Eskimo Recordings, and 2nd album, 'Incarnadine', drops on Jennifer Cardini’s, Dischi Autunno imprint Nov 26th, 2021.

ITI Mix 009: Curses

Skelesys has been working on different music lately, on a wide spectrum of styles, which hopefully will end up being an album. For the last couple of months he was making a lot new material, some of it for the dancefloor, some for listening while lying in bed. This set is recorded live in the studio so it feels more like jamming sometimes, seeing what could come up. He added some vocals on top as well as his guitar bits and lots of 80s vibe sounds from his synths. Skelesys loves musical challenges of putting out something that comes up as a spontaneous idea, it gives him adrenaline at some point, he says.

This month we are joined by to of our favourite party starters Local Suicide. Munich-born Brax Moody and Thessaloniki native Vamparela have collaborated together since 2009. Their scope is wide-ranging and have collaborated on projects ranging from DJ sets to bands, remixes and music production. These two were also the driving forces behind the now-infamous T.O.F.U (Too Old For Understatement).  Their DJ career has carried them to all four corners of the world. You can rest assured that this pair are at the very peak of their game. 

Their sound is a wild fusion of new wave, acid, slow techno, EBM and post-disco.   This power couple has been whipping up a collaborative storm with the likes of  Rodion, Mijo, Theus Mago Alejandro Paz and Curses! The coming year holds a lot of promise for this dynamic duo, with a series of EPs and remixes in the pipe line these guys are killing it every time! #WhereTheLinsBlur #HostageRadio
