It were as if he’d been here before. Everything looked ever so familiar, the lake in the distance, the rolling hills which watched over it all, the dense greenery of the forest alongside.

He strolled through the long grass trying to recall how and when he might have been here. Had it been in a dream? Was this some sort of strange future memory or was nostalgia simply playing a cruel trick upon his psyche.

Regardless of it all, the beauty was stark. It was hard not to get caught up in the ethereal might of the landscape.

Once upon a time, or maybe in another universe, Urei Lazar was born. Or so the story goes. His music is genre-free, weird in the best way, and drenched in the mystery of outer space, UFOs, and the kind of alternate dimensions you’d find in a wild dream. Now he’s landing on Earth, or rather, on Apparel Tronic’s “White” catalogue, with his debut record on the label: Sightings. It’s a 5-track journey that’s part storytelling, part exploration of what "other" can sound like. Breakbeat grooves, glitchy textures, Leftfield vibes, and IDM brilliance all blend together as Urei Lazar shows us a glimpse of life from his imagined worlds. SCHiLLiNG, one of the brains behind Apparel Tronic, jumps on remix duty, twisting one of the tracks into his own shape-shifting piece. SCHiLLiNG also teamed up with Kisk (the other co-captain of the label) to cook up the album art—a perfect visual match for music that’s so out-there. This record isn’t just experimental; it’s wild, mind-bending, and downright amazing. How are we shaped by what we hear and see? Do we channel our collective feelings of longing and desire for higher purpose in accord or in opposition to major historical and political forces?

On "Wschodnia Fala: The Reimagined Vision of Eastern-European Wave Music" TAMTEN takes us on a kaleidoscopic voyage through a parallel universe where the symbols and echoes of days gone by are so much more than just archived exhibits of nostalgia. Through an array of meticulous, cut & paste rearrangements, the Warsaw-based artist manages to animate yet another fantastic world of "what could be", following his more apocalyptical take on the previous LP.

There is boldness in every aspect of the release. The saga-like story unfolds evoking the excitement of seashore autobahn ride, thrills of long-forgotten discotheque nights, rush of obsessive romance and intriguing, noir-inspired drama of introspection. The analogies between Polish wave music (with nods to Aya RL, Republika, Klaus Mittfoch, Papa Dance or even Bajm) and global disco-era top chart phenomenons like Kraftwerk, Grace Jones, Giorgio Moroder and Duran Duran, could spark hour-long musicology debates. The melodies and harmonies heard on the album resemble compositions everybody knows but also sound completely new and exhilarating, just as western music clips experienced for the first time behind the Iron Curtain and then collected compulsively on VHS tapes. The feeling of the author's frenetic attempt to capture sensations, memories, artifacts and ideas never escapes the listener till the very last minute of the recording.

"Wschodnia Fala" could pass for an eerie, anonymous late 80s lost-and-found cassette mixtape unearthed on any of the Berlin Wall's sides, if it wasn't for its crystal-clear, contemporary production value and the fluent, educated use of samples ranging from bizarre and opaque to deliberately retro-pop-influenced. Those elaborate winks of the eye for those in the know are already TAMTEN's trademark and they reflect his long-standing fascination with the dancefloor anthropology rather than just the dancefloor itself. Even though never leaning towards formulaic, easy-to-mix, club-ready stompers, his ideas are still groovy enough to make anyone move.

The album strives for some sort of unattainable totality - it’s a ticket to a seance, an experience, a rite. It is a chance to time travel and dance with your ancestors in a glass labyrinth on acid or to watch an 80s teenage adventure, coming-of-age, road cruising film in the cinema of your imagination with only a soundtrack provided. A "the best of" CD compilation of hits from a childhood we remember from a different timeline. A comic book sketch, a diary of an archivist, an elegy for the times that never were and a party you wish you could go to right now. The adventure is always different with another listen.

Step in. Close your eyes. Reimagine.

Mr. Jones embodies the ego of modern man, greedy, cold-blooded, heartless, driven by an unyielding pursuit of personal well-being at any cost. To him, nothing else matters. He must get what he wants; stepping over people's heads, trampling their destinies, destroying this world if necessary. Once he does, there will always be another goal to strive for.
However, we remember: almost everything we accumulate, we take from someone else or from nature, often giving nothing in return. The world is full of this ego and it's time to rediscover what really matters.

"Devil in Mr. Jones" is a three-track EP: the title track is deeply rooted in EBM, "The Future" marches forward with an acid groove, and "Before The Sun Will Rise" takes you on a late-night psychedelic journey. The sound is shaped by iconic machines such as the Roland TB-303, Arp Odyssey, Roland TR-808, Roland CR-78, Syncussion, Moog DFAM, and Oberheim OB-XA, blending raw analog textures with hypnotic rhythms.

Everyone could face their own Mr. Jones at some point; the question is how to remain a human being.

Introspective, funky, earthy and deep: the album sound palette juxtaposes elements like century-old piano phrases with mysterious synth pads, while tape-squashed drum breaks and jazzy flute themes spiral together creating a journey into a prehistoric futurism.

PREMIERE: Accident Machine - Real Dream Scene [Paradise Palms]

After a period of introspective growth and sonic refinement, Greek sound designer and producer AYLN emerges from the ether with a bold new self-released EP, From the Source. Berlin-based AYLN makes a powerful return with a trilogy of trance-tinged techno cuts that nod to the roots of the genre while charting a fresh, personal journey forward.

The EP's opener and title track, From the Source, sets the tone with pulsing rhythms, ominous sound design, and a deep sense of propulsion, a love letter to the originators of techno and the foundational ethos of unity, optimism, futurism, and escape. Following up, To the Source dives deeper into introspective territory, fusing new school sound design with old school spirit for a cathartic, late-night journey. Rounding out the release is the Teleport Edit, a reimagined version of the title track designed to launch dancefloors into orbit.

Having previously released on the NOUS label, AYLN used the time since their last official release in 2022 to hone a sound unbound by trends or expectations. The result is a fearless EP that channels both nostalgia and innovation.

The artwork, inspired by '90s trance cover aesthetics, visually echoes the record’s themes: vivid, euphoric, and timeless.

Ransom Note Records are over the moon to welcome illustrious French Electronic duo Froid Dub to the fold for the debut 12” vinyl release with us, Tears Maker Chant. Head honchos of the wonderful Delodio label, Stéphane and François, mark the 50th release for R$N Recs, and this is without a shadow of a doubt an incredibly special one for us. So, sit back and ready yourself for some inimitable Froid Dub cuts; laid back but pounding, graceful yet aggressive but above all, thoroughly danceable.

Opening proceedings is the Acid tinged Just One, a masterclass in making people dance at under 80bpm. Achingly gorgeous polysynth chords rain down, hovering like a film overhead the saturated 303 line that wobbles along in the low end. First single On The Nose enters next, with a delightfully soft, round bass that feels like bouncing around a padded room. Inside a Zorb. On MDMA. More echoed, analogue motifs dart from left to right, confirming with strong conviction that our chaps from Paris put the Dub in Indubitably Fantastic.

Digital Pond closes side A of the 12”, a low slung, nonchalant piece of mood music. Idiosyncratically “French” , brittle chords piece the sound stage, evoking past Italo Disco spaces, but remaining conscientiously chug-dubbed out. Second single Control (Special Mix) opens side B… with a capital B. For Banger. Another Space Echo heavy workout in the lower frequencies of the audio spectrum, this is testament to the old adage that less is often, a hell of a lot more (to paraphrase).

The titular Tears Maker glides into view next, with its frantic 808 patterns and spacey melodica, setting the scene for the majesty to follow. This epically proportioned tune is probably going to be a little passe come the end of summer, because it’s going to be played at festivals the world over relentlessly. Be warned! Finally Terri’s Dub brings matters to a close, with its angular, stands and woozy vocals, we’re given the space and tie to contemplate what has just happened to us on two mere sides of vinyl.
