For this striking 7th EP, we are lucky to have Mr. Ho back for another
massive delivery. This time complete with fully versatile house music.
A1 “Burrow” storms out the gate with an acid attack. The spooky
bassline, punchy drums, and acidic atmosphere makes this the complete peak time bomb. Then the EP smoothly roles into the A2, “TCB”. A loopy, repetitive drum pattern that is guaranteed to feature for many on repeat mode. For B1’s “Shoplift” Mr. Ho brings out the melody. This is a feel-good tune featuring an old school jungle-like drum pattern that makes this a great summer outdoor weapon. Finally, Mr. Ho's Klasse Wreck partner in crime Luca Loc azono provides a silkier twist on “Shoplift” for a vinyl only remix.

This EP provides a whole spectrum of tools for house heads. Groovy,
melodic, banging, or loopy, Mr. Ho has got them all covered.

Black Light Smoke fuses techno, EBM and post-punk on his Brain Dead EP, backed with a remix from Alessandro Adriani.

Black Light Smoke combines weighty drums and analog synths on four tracks with a common thread: the use of his own warped vocals. From the cowbell rhythms and suspenseful pads of ‘Brain Dead’ to the hard-hitting bleeps of ‘Nailed to the Ground’, he infuses his tracks with a rare character, quality and flair. The release also comes with a remix from Mannequin Records boss Alessandro Adriani, whose expertise sees him turn ‘Machines Don’t Love’ into a staggering EBM track.

Daytime Emmy-winning producer and songwriter Jordan Lieb aka Black Light Smoke has racked up releases on Scissor & Thread, Voodoo Down, Nein Records and his own Death Decay Magic. Known for his world-renowned sets featuring live vocals and his productions both in- and outside of electronic music, he’s undoubtedly an artist in a class of his own.

Andrey Sirotkin makes a remarkable debut on THISBE Recordings with the single “Untouchable”, a synth-infused slow techno track with an electric 80s feel, that should awaken every listener’s imagination from start to finish. The Kyiv-based producer, known for his fine analogically produced leftfield techno tracks released - among others - on Rune Records and Mystictrax and his own label Vyrii records, comes up once again with an original production which strikes the right emotional balance between melancholy and euphoria.

Initially produced as an instrumental tune, such an atmospheric track was begging for an extra melodic vocal ­input, and this is where Pyrame comes into play. Indeed, “Untouchable” features the Berlin-based lyricist and vocalist who conveys a warning message about humankind being reduced to a simple product in modern society, a lame unit in a world driven by statistics where everything is measured and quantified. The writing is on the wall: with “Untouchable”, Pyrame raises awareness about losing every aspect of our freedom, privacy and unbiased opinion. Scary, with the hope of getting sometime, somehow, out of it. We must.

In order to add some other perspectives to “Untouchable” when it comes to genres, the EP is completed by a deep techno remix by Joseph S Joyce, A Caribbean rework by A-Tweed & Oltrefuturo - which also got declined into a dub version - as well as an electro mix by Acid Washed.

“Procida Ritual Project is not the romantic and visionary idea of an island anchored to its roots, but a convinced path aimed at giving new life to the sounds of ritual celebrations of the Procidan community.”
Pier Paolo Polcari, composer, producer and co-founder of the iconic Neapolitan band Almamegretta, returns with a new musical work “Procida Ritual Project.”
The project, with a strongly anthropological and Mediterranean feel, conceived together with Leonardo Scotto di Monaco, an artist and scholar of local traditions, is developed within the “Procida Capital of Culture 2022” program and was created with the aim of enhancing tradition, protecting the past by projecting it into the future, preserving identities, making generations dialogue, with the aim of saving the enormous intangible cultural heritage of the island of Procida from extinction.
The key to the project is a database of “field-recordings” in the core of which we find the celebrated rites of Settimana Santa and the Processione dei Misteri: a veritable mine of identity made up of symbols that advance on the traces of centuries-old echoes.
The ancient matrices, which will remain recognizable, give rise to evocative paths of authorial reworking in an electronic key, with the contribution of important musicians such as Daniele Ubik (sax, percussion, hang and voices) and Marzouk Mejri (darbouka, Tunisian flute, voices and percussion).
Among the most evocative sources of inspiration is the “Menerio,” a large peasant bonfire that the people of the island used to light, ideally greeting the beginning of spring: a purification rite that in the past was introduced by invocations and drum rolls and that Procida Ritual Project brings back to life.
The first single “Ritual” resonates with devotional songs dedicated to the Madonna delle Grazie, which the faithful chant in July: a kind of dialectal rosary with ancestral sounds and tones. And again, cues for the construction of this project come from the dialect novena that, at the end of October, on the long eve of the celebration of the dead, the faithful are wont to sing in a collective rite created to exorcise death.
RITUAL PROJECT PROCIDA also becomes the name of a live band, which aims to continue experimenting and researching, live and in the recording studio, from now on, through the publication curated by Salgari Records in digital format and on vinyl, in a limited edition of three hundred copies.
The graphics are by Federico Spini, who reworked the valuable photographic material by Roberta Riccio, in which the Turchini are portrayed during the Venerdì Santo procession.

J.Wiltshire returns to MUSAR with 'Sunflower At Day' EP — a deep, atmospheric excursion across four tightly woven dance-floor tracks.

Marking MUSAR’s 20th release, this EP showcases some of Wiltshire’s most club-ready work yet, blending outsider house, ambient trance, and Cornish electronic influences.  

The title track ‘Sunflower At Day’ is a shoegaze-infused chugger that nods to the ethereal haze of My Bloody Valentine and has a rave energy reminiscent of Future Sound of London. Track two, ‘Cosmic Slap’, takes over with its deep, dub-heavy sounds and off-kilter rhythms, playing to Wiltshire's more experimental side under a techno beat.  

On the B side, we dive deeper into Wiltshire's intricate melodic world.

Hailing from Belarus, and based in Hanoi, Vietnam, producer and DJ Mishouju treats us with a project from overseas, filled with his signature broken electro sounds and deep hypnotizing 4-on-the-floor style that locks you into the dancefloor. “Memphis Electronic Inc.” is an inspired adventure into different sounds and genres like house, breaks, electro, dub & techno that is centered on Mishouju’s favorite hip-hop tunes growing up, mostly Memphis hip-hop.

“Mishy Oi” starts us off with a cheeky reinterpretation of the New York hip hop classic “Shimmy Shimmy Ya” by Ol’ Dirty Bastard, with Mishouju injecting his signature style to a very familiar sample, creating a suspenseful build-up and worthy payoff thus, further enhancing an already ubiquitous song into a banger worthy of a club.
