Jerry Unknown prepares their debut album after three standout EPs on their own Unknown Recs label. Weaving their distinct style into the record, Jerry Unknown’s first full-length shows a producer at the peak of their powers, with a unique collection of hazy, downtempo electronica on full display throughout. Leading the release, the mid-tempo ‘0 A’ sees skippy breaks and gliding chords take centre stage while the drifting pianos and spacious, lingering FX of ‘0 B’ follow suit. ‘0 C’ combines blissful leads, fast-paced drum work, and blossoming synths before the mid-album ‘0 D’ takes a sonic break with its ambient soundscapes and stretched-out pads. ‘0 E’, a downtempo, hip-hop inflected track, sees rumbling low end and bumping drums unfurl alongside emotive progressions, before the gentle percussion of ‘0 F’ arrives amongst floating synthesis and crackling soundscapes. Closing the release, ‘0 G’ delivers a final shot of elegant electronica to round out proceedings. “A lot of the Unkn0wn project was done in Oslo, Norway between production sessions. It was my first time in the city, and there was something very inspiring about the culture there. I don’t think I’ve visited anywhere where the temperament is as neutral and, for lack of a better word, “cold”. In my opinion, it feels a bit more natural and realistic. R&S founder Renaat Vandepapeliere launches a new series RV Trax, to reflect the sound of his DJ sets and to give a platform to artists not based on social media likes or online hype.

Re-invigorated and inspired by contemporary dance floor sounds, after 30+ years as the label owner and figurehead Renaat succumbed to the temptation to finally, at the tender age of 60, try his own hand at rocking the crowd.

Renaat's sets have seen him assemble a treasure trove of unreleased music that will now find a very personal home on RV Trax. Emblazoned with the Belgian national colours of black, yellow and red these tracks proudly flaunt their 'floor-filling dynamics.

The first, a dance floor stormer from Steve Legget, remixing fellow North Easterner Bird Of Paradise’s original - a tight punchy workout that pairs distorted 909 kicks against a high tension string part and melancholic synth pads. G-Prod (AKA French brothers David and Nicolas Gaugain) provide a balmy, motor-city style number - shuffling drums underpin sunrise synth washes and euphoric melodies. Buenos Ayres' Hermetics provide a frostier mood with ‘Collider’ - chilly FM bells pinned against serrated percussion and swirling distortion

‘Family Horror X Good Times’ is an extensive 15 tracks compilation, where the label reflects on an intense and impassioned decade. We asked close friends and long time idols to play their part to the full to complete the third edition of the label’s Family Horror compilation series. The outcome is a clear snapshot of the musical inclinations of the three label founders, Sevensol & Map.ache (aka Manamana) and Bender, encapsulating an idiosyncratic, modern house sound that demands an emotional response.

Ara Koufax (Sam Gill and Luke Neher) have made music and videos together in Melbourne, Australia for over a decade.

Their latest EP follows a string of two-track releases through Cutters Records, CSCN and Fort Romeau's Cin Cin imprint.

'Sweet Pitch' forgoes utilitarian club tracks. Instead, facsimiles of techno, fake trance, uncanny-valley breaks, shuffles, and disembodied voices find their home in a spacious ambient soundscape. It's a compilation of music that never happened.
