Things became clearer under the veil of darkness; how ironic that in the stark light of day, nothing but confusion and uncertainty ruled her mind. Though the answers were staring her right in the face, she couldn't see them, there was too many distractions and external influences that obstructed her vision. But when night took hold, and the sweet sound of silence prevailed, the solutions were finally plain to see.. 

For the next release on Portland's Bed of Roses, they welcome MagicPink - a member of the label collective - for her debut EP, Night Visions. A powerful, stirring release in its entirety, the four original tracks journey through twinkling, icy synths, fuzzy, driving EBM and skittering blends of trance and industrial. On the flip a few other producers get their hands on the music; French post-punk band Blind Delon take on the title track, while label mate and boss, Cole Baby and Break Mode, respectively, also add their own personal touch to two of the other cuts.

Howdy. It seems a debutant graces our celestial saloon. Don’t fret, partner, we’re nothing if not accommodating. There’s certainly enough room in this town for the two of us. Come inside and have one on us. Rest that mind and unwind. Get away from the dusty rain on that crusty plain.
Our choice here fall on easily distinguishable, Satellite Spritzes which paints a high noon duel between phasing drums and broken pulse. A showdown of astronautic proportions, the two dance atop round sub frequencies, meeting manipulated synthetic elements as they cross paths in the focal crux.

Ukranian DJ & producer Monotronique makes his debut release for Hypercolour after having an impressive run of releases for the likes of Livity Sound, Banoffee Pies, Opal Tapes and Hyperboloid Records.

Born and raised in Kharkiv, Monotronique aka Roman Kurhan has, in the face of the devastating attack on his city and country, continued to push forward with his music, and pulls together four exemplary new tracks on the ‘Uh Oooh’ EP, serving up thoroughly modern electro beats and deep sonic excursions.

Khidja continue to develop their tripped out vision with their first full EP for Hivern since 2019's 'Impossible Holiday'. In 'Something In The Water' the Romanian duo presents three new tracks that drift between genres and moods through open minded studio experimentation. “The Future Has Disappeared” and “Back To Vid” rely on contrasting sound palettes and a smart use of the stereo field to build up tension while 'Science of Ghosts' is an expansive number of galactic electro-funk. The mighty Italo Moderni, Spanish imprint curated by Adrian Marth (SXDNS188), presents "Modernation Vol. 4", (unfortunately)  the last episode of its acclaimed compilation series. The closing chapter comes dressed to impress by featuring a great selection of hot-shot acts of the so called Indie Dance/Dark Disco scene: Timothy J. Fairplay, Alessandro Adriani, Chino, Chupacabras, Leroy Se Meurt, Univac, Le Chocolat Noir, Rapha, E-Bony, Diana Berti, Yobkiss, LBEEZE, and the label boss himself brought AAA+ retro-modern-infused cuts for the high-style finale.

The track we were solicited to review/premiere comes from the mastermind of Chupacabras. The UK-based producer, with previous appearances on Throne Of Blood, Distrokids, and L.I.E.S. Records, to name a few, strikes hard with the impressive "Planning Stages", an Electro-meets-EBM-meets-Industrial ferocious beast with a powerful and frenzied atmosphere and a shut-up-and-dance attitude - it's definitely one of the highlights of the release.
