@matt-masters is a producer who is on a stellar path at the moment, his productions seem to take several steps forward with every single release, which is really saying something as they were insanely good to start off with.

His new single Look What You've Done on @ fredeverything's Lazy Days label is a bit of a masterpiece, as the label says "The bossa rhythm and vocal sample reminds us of Compost’s golden era (think Rainer Trüby/Jazzanova) and Lindstrom’s early 2000 Slow Supreme project". I most certainly agree with that wholeheartedly. This is a future classic, warm, inviting and with a subtle energy which will bring more than a little joy to clued up dancefloors across the globe in the coming months. The release also sees label boss Fred Everything do some serious damage with a deep percussion meets synth workout. Tasty, trippy and very very good.

Anil Aras makes a welcome return to the Dutch powerhouse imprint, PIV, with his new four-track ‘When Souls Collide’ EP.

Title-cut ‘When Souls Collide’ opens the release and sees Anil express this depth of soul, dynamism and musicality through and amalgamation of jazzy keys, smooth chord sequences and cinematic strings, further fuelled by a swinging rhythm section and weight sub bass groove. ‘Shy Times’ follows next and leans towards a Chicago House tinged aesthetic thanks to ethereal chords, twitchy resonant synth hooks, oscillating low-end pulsations and swinging drums.

Opening the flip-side is ‘Feel Free’, a hard hitting house jam based around an infectious vocal hook, intricate organic percussion and saturated drums constructed in a dance floor tool fashion. ‘Dexed TEK’ then conludes the EP and leans into dub house territory via fluttering stab echoes, intertwined chords, bumpy bass notes and crisp low slung drums.

PEACES is a moniker and music project by Rizki S. Djanegara, DJ/Producer born and bred in Jakarta, Indonesia. He was captivated by the sounds of new wave, disco, rock, jazz, and post-punk. He began exploring his musical journey through his own collective in early 2017. Continuing to forge his path, he debuted his original track, which was released by Rotten City Records (Madrid), Oberwave (Moscow), among others.

In early 2021, he joined Akamady Records (Jakarta), a pioneering underground record label, contributing to several releases. Currently, he is a part of Talking Machine Records (Jakarta).

As an avid music enthusiast, Rizki joined Salt A Way team, a renowned beach music festival on the West Java coast, where he serves as a talent curator. Additionally, he is a resident DJ and music director at Pantai Pandan, an organic beach club in West Java, where he curates a monthly program called Hang Loose.

This is our first Rework!

We really loved this tune from the band "Way Of The West", they were a fairly popular band on the club scene in the early 1980s - at least in the NYC area and presumably in the UK as well, this track ''Dont Say That's Just For White Boys '' was their first single and was by far their biggest hit.

So we decided to give it some editing and also we added few overdubs to give a more punchy and dancy vibe to make it more suitable for our dj sets ! We hope you'll like it !

Our community in Prague has been organizing and spreading awareness in a highly Zionist Czech society for many months. Hans Berg readies another machine-made EP via his own label UFO Station Recordings. 'Cave Dwellers' is a collection of sparse modular Techno: 4 candlelit trips built using the Nord Drum synthesizer as a melodic lead.

As usual, Hans marshals his machines in a way that enables them to breathe and grow naturally and the result is a deeply hypnotising set of side quests into 4 dank, chilly caverns.

Schrödinger’s Box welcome Catalonia’s Adrian Marth into the fold. The Iberian artist has been drawing crowds and turning heads with his analogue inspired productions and dancefloor inhibitions. This five tracker sees the Italo Moderni founder explore the glittering angles and brooding shadows of his machines. The punishing percussion and beaming laser lights of “Labyrinth Mind” give way to the tumbling drums and racing synthlines of the addictive “Sex Tonight.” The flip opens with the sleazy grandeur of “Beverly Hills”, looming melodies and retro flourishes combine in this operatic ode to the 1980s. Speaking of the 80s, the inspiration for the penultimate comes from a figure who symbolised the bombastic bravado of the era. “Divine on the Late Show 88” is a tribute to the Pink Flamingos legend, beats sparkle as her sequenced dresses and larger-than-life attitude screams into the present. Danny Wolfers takes the helm to close. Donning his familiar Legowelt moniker, the behemoth of all things electronic delivers a saturated and spiralling rework of “Divine on the Late Show 88” to the close.

“Drumology” – The title track itself is already an invitation for the curious to discover a singular side of Agle. The French artist is indeed known for revisiting 80s synthscapes with his own pen and keeping the genre very well alive, this, both through his own music as well as his newly-established label Rewind It.

With “Drumology”, the Barcelona-based takes another path in his music production journey by delivering an uptempo 2-track EP, which also features the track “Second City”. It is an exhilarating voyage throughout crowed geographies, as the listener could instantaneously picture her/himself in the Grand Bazar of Istanbul, on a highway crossing Osaka´s skyline or in the heat of a buoyant market in Bombay. The music is intense and original, sleek with a zest of folie: All the ingredients we love at THISBE.

The EP is completed by remixes by Radial Gaze, and Pyrame: By remixing ”Drumology”, Radial Gaze, a pillar artist of the label, drives the listener into another spiral of beats, adding his own acid and tribal elements “à la Radial Gaze”, while by reworking “Second City”, Pyrame takes a more trancy route to ensure the immersion into Agle´s raging work of art is complete.

“Drumology“ is due to drop on Friday the 14th of February 2025 on Bandcamp and on all streaming platforms via Thisbe Recordings.
