Angelo Sindaco is the producer’name behind the self-titled project, Sindaco, active since the mid-80s in the experimental and industrial
electronic music’ circuit up to the most innovative house music now lands on Simona Faraone’s label, New Interplanetary Melodies
with his latest work, Spiritual Safari (NIM010).
For this release, Sindaco took the help of some of his longtime collaborators and friends such as DJ and producer Andrea Salomoni,
here with his aka Abyssy, Brazilian Kraut-classic singer Marcela Dias and musician Nico Pasquini aka Stromboli.
Spiritual Safari was born from a particular sci-fi vision of Africa as the last border of post-post-modernism, in which, Sindaco’s artsy
approach combined with Abyssy’s more exquisitely Detroit feel blend to perfection giving birth to tracks with a more ecstatic flavor such
as Absinthium (1) and Gommaflex feat. Stromboli (3) or more sinuous and deep like Bem bem bem (2), graced by the sweet voice
of Marcela Dias or Monolite (4) that transports us to a Techno dimension of rare elegance.
With Atlantic Road (5) the mood becomes more rarefied despite of the pushing rhythm, while in Son (6 feat. Abyssy) field recordings and synths turns more airy and shimmering bringing to mind some typical early 90s house productions. In Amazonas (7 feat. Abyssy ) sounds comes from idm matrix while The Cave (8 feat Marcela Dias), the track that closes this beautiful record, you are enveloped by a soft tropical cloud thanks to its wrapping bass line and foggy synths that will conquer the most demanding users as by now a tradition for all the records curated by New Interplanetary Melodies.

Shurmin Nikita is a new upcoming name in the scene of Lithuanian alternative music. Finally Good Skills releases something to sing along.
 This is one of them stories, when a young kid sends his music to his favourite local label and gets heard. He is a real deal – and we are so happy to have him. Nikita has it all – he is talented young man with great musical ideas playing live instruments, funny but real lyrics, raw energy, and unique style. He lives between Vilnius and Oslo, carries sugar is in his pockets and has some ready for your ears. Cukrus (sugar) is the name of his debut EP to be released on Good Skills on 30th of March.
When asked to say few words about his work, author was blunt: “This music is about everyday life of Shurmin Nikita.” Three originals with amazing remixes from Thomass Jackson and ALF CHAMPION & MDHNTR coming little later – we invite you to have a listen and support new and upcoming artists. Get ready to get excited as we are and taste that sweet sugar.

 After becoming a member of Good Skills crew, Nikita got introduced to “waiting to be actually released” game, which is one of the dark sides of music business. Final touches, mixing, masters and design – sometimes these things go quite slow. Good for him, he didn’t waste time and did some heavy research on local discotheques game. As the author says, he danced everywhere he could, even without people around him knowing about it sometimes. And so, Nikita Boogie was born.

Būna Dienos
 According to Nikita, this song was written in the attic of his dad’s house. His family’s old pictures show that this was the space, where various discotheques were taking place, when he was a kid. The house was old, but everything was new to Nikita. This space inspired him to start experimenting with music, so he turned it into DIY music studio, and this particular song was one of the first jams after deciding to turn to dancey music and playing around with drum machine. Here Nikita sings about very relatable topic – sometimes there are days when you simply cannot stop dancing. Everyone has been there, right?

Klevo Lapus

 One time while getting up the stairs of the attic, where Nikita’s music studio was, he heard quite busy action on the street next to the house. Some car drivers went quite heavy on their horns. This hymn of non-stop “horns choir” sounded a little bit like a dance track, which very soon proved to be truth. So that’s what Shurmin Nikita did. Name of the track translates to “Leaves of the Maple” – it must have been autumn.

Floor is crying
 “Floor is crying” is another hymn to dancing, written in quite dramatic style with a philosophical purpose. This track asks very important question – what if the floor of the dance floor have feelings and feel your legs? Would they enjoy being stumped upon or would they suffer?

Jazxing's take on "Szach Mat", a new track from the upcoming "Horror Vacui" EP by the Polish duo Ikarvs shows a change of course from delicate Balearic shores to harsher lands. Inspired by sounds bordering on EBM, electroclash and new beat, this new release is a belter for fans of a chuggy, bocca rhythms with an acid touch. The clash of influences of downtempo and post-punk vibes in both projects resulted in a spacey and trippy joint for all slow-groove lovers.

REVIEW: 

Whypeopledance premiered the first video from After Altamont's Elektriki Rembetologia 10 days ago. Words are slowly taking shape, and the first thing we say is: The new EP from the duo Stavros Potamitis and Constantinos Parisinos is an ambitious piece! This is the second EP from their collaborative Live band project but the first with this type of appetite to seize an XXI century moment hand in hand with tradition. Released on their Inside Out Records, two renditions, one original, and four remixes celebrate the love between traditional Greek instruments and analog electronic equipment.

Milking inspiration from Rebetiko, late 19th century songs of poor Greeks, you might think you're in for one of the better mid-tempo rides of the year but the game changes for even better with the first notes sung by vocalist Dunja Botić on the EP opener, "The Spasw Koupes." The dragging it's-a-hard-knock-life vocal continues to surprise on EP's second rendition of a traditional Greek song, 
"Mpournabalia." With each blink of an eye, grainy visions of laundry spread over balconies appear. Skin thickened by the sun and women leaning over washbasins for a drop of cold water. Unspoken stories of infidelities that you can cut with a knife. Who is drinking who to death. That type of heartbreaking questions.

"Aspra Xwmata" is the album's original, a hypnotic treat for the hunters of the spoken word, with Athens legend Anna Maria Harokopou behind the mic. Makes us imagine one of Androniki’s wild nights out. Androniki inspired the creators of accompanying videos, Thalia Tsiatini (director /producer) and Melina Koutsofta (choreography, performer), as the woman who got shot by her own brother for wearing trousers first and going to cafes to play cards and smoke with her lovers. 

Lamusa II's is the first of the remixes and pays the utmost respect to the original "The Spasw Koupes," offering only a sprinkle of testosterone over, thus leaving minimal intervention.

Anna Disclaim's remix emphasizes the vocal by speeding things up and manipulating the atmosphere with big build-ups and two-step microwork beneath. 

METAMAN's remix of "Mpournobalia" evokes the nostalgic sounds of electronic music pioneers, whereas Steve Pepe goes for the dubby-yet-jazzy techno realities that go well with the austerity of the entire package.

That being said, as tough and grown-up as Elektriki Rembetologia is, it's twice as ready for the dance floors of spring 2023.
