Mind Control är den hemliga luckan i Nordic Soul Syndicates arkiv – mappen som ingen skulle öppna, men som ändå läckte. Här samlas överblivna skisser, bortglömda grooves, råa demotagningar och olydiga funk-experiment som aldrig tänktes bli släppta. Allt det där som skapades mellan tagningarna, under sena nätter, vid trasiga kablar och med för mycket bas i rummet.

Breathe in Silence

"Our Starry Universe" is an independent record label from Brooklyn. It was the obvious progression of three veteran New York DJs, producers and avid record collectors as an outlet for their musical projects. The label is about music for inspiration and relaxation whether you are on the beach or riding off into the sunset. With a fondness for studio magic, cool sounding synth lines, perfectly unquantized machine drums and reverberated warmth are celebrated.

As the second release on the label, it’s a debut from Brooklyn duo Birds Of Pandæmonium. These guys are a nomadic, psychedelic collective led by Millennium Culkin and Hazy James. Taking simple songs of raw emotion then refracting them through their maximalist, tripped out lens. These guys are out to craft sonic collages for the new love renaissance. Exploring the darkness while pursuing light.

‘Days Gone By’ is a bleary-eyed piece of optimistic, astral gazing. Imagine if you will an Echo & The Bunnymen track, produced by Dan Hartman and remixed by Daneile Baldeli, that’s what we’re dealing with here.

On this mesmerising four tracker the remix duty goes to Bryan Mette (WhateverWhatever) who brings a 10 minute-long Moroder-esque, cosmic disco workout, with a minimal late-night Belgian-beat dub.

After releasing music with his projects Vermelho Wonder and Sphynx, ODD’s man Vermelho is back in the solo game with “Headspin”, an acid and contagious journey.

The song is part of the recently released “Fazedores de Som” compilation, a work sculpted by multifaceted sounds from the old and new schools producers of Brazilian electronic music.

Muy Muy’s third release continues exploring Mexico City’s incredibly deep pool of talent, with an EP of slow burning, melodic techno from a staple of the scene: Mijo. 
A frequent collaborator with Rodion, Rex the Dog, Bryan Kessler and Sascha Funke, to name a few, he has an impressive discography under his belt for such a young artist.
Coming from a traditional musical background, this solo EP is a departure from Mijo’s club tracks that he has become widely known for, offering a darker and more subtle approach from this multi-faceted artist. Another EP for the times, these slow burning tracks are heavy on textures and melancholic memories of the long after parties that sometimes stretched for days in the hectic, chaotic, yet eternally beautiful capital that Mexico City is.
Our choice was ’Batucada’ - collaboration with chilean artist Persona, almost 7 min techno thriller, excellent weapon for 4am mindblowing peak hour dropping.

Absent-mindedly dipping your hand in the pool, you glance down as your skin shimmers lightly in tandem with the pristine blue water. Reaching to grab your cocktail, you find yourself sticking to the sun lounger like melted cheese. Weird. Hang on, you could’ve sworn that baby hippo wasn’t wearing sunglasses the last time you looked over? Whatever, the music sounds incredible right now, and you breathe a deep sigh as the waves wash in.

Landing on our own Ransom Note Records, following our Pen Pals 2 compilation and Flug 8 LP release, is a long player from Hologram Teen AKA former Stereolab keyboardist Morgane Lhote. Her debut as a solo artist came five years ago followed by her first album Between The Funk and the Fear surfacing in 2018. Now she comes correct with her sophomore release, Pizza Conspiracy: a kaleidoscopic marvel that folds acid-drenched funk and Congolese rumba into astral jazz and Daisy Age hip-hop, reminiscent of 00's beat tapes à la MF Doom, Donuts, The Avalanches and Madlib's Beat Konducta series.

Its forthcoming EP, featuring Argentinian producer Nicolas Lattansio aka SHIT, delivers four stunning originals and showcases the versatility and talent of the hermano, who was previously seen on Controlla, Bottom Forty and… Richmerch itself along with Persona, Guerra, Tyu and Gameboyz (SXDNS061).

The message “Die Sleeping EP” intends to transmit is aimed at those who miss going to raves, dancing with strangers somewhere at 6 am and having proper fun for days. The raves are becoming more underground again, being held in secret locations only for friends, some of them are a little bit more massive at outdoor locations. Why? People are getting crazy. People want to dance. They want to party. Despite the danger it represents nowadays. SHIT cooked music for this scenario.
