LudoWic presents his new album 'SUPER8 MEMORY'.
This album will be released on May 10th on @wicrecordings. All tracks are recorded with only one instrument: TRAUTONIUM. 

Artist and musician Thijs Lodewijk (LudoWic) makes music and visual art. Now LudoWic is releasing his new album ‘SUPER8 MEMORY’ in which the instrument Trautonium takes center stage.

The Trautonium is a ‘forgotten’ historical instrument, and is one of the first synthesizers invented around 1929. Almost 100 years after its invention, LudoWic wants to bring this forgotten instrument back into the spotlight. LudoWic is one of the few in the world who owns and plays this instrument.

For the album SUPER8 MEMORY, LudoWic was inspired by Andrej Tarkovsky’s film The Mirror (1975). Dream, memory, present and past are intertwined in this film. The Trautonium touches you in the same way, as it feels nostalgic and futuristic at the same time.

The album explores the feeling of falling without reaching the ground. As if you enter a vacuum space in which you can fall endlessly. In this state of surrender beautiful thoughts unfold.

Every sound, every melody was performed live on a drum synth, capturing the hypnotic flow he once found behind his acoustic kit. This track is a rediscovery of the feeling that first sparked his journey into music.

I Fly

3:50 AM is the time I hit 'export' on this track, the first single off my upcoming album.

That night was probably the most important one for this project. I locked myself in my studio with my new synth, and managed to record 3 tracks in one evening, all of which ended up on the album.

3:50AM is a track in a few chapters, some of which are knotty, fast and abrasive, some more ambient and slow. Hope u enjoy!
