One of Australia’s most mysterious jazz long players. The eponymous creation of Queensland pianist Robert Welsh. Originally released in 1986, Singing Dust offers a dynamic collection of songs, rich in expressive performance and compositional sophistication. Inspired by the sounds of Indian devotional song, the jazz piano styles of Bill Evans and Keith Jarrett, English folk and Debussey’s tonal impressions, this is a work of true dedication and posterity that will appeal to many serious music lovers.

They all watched as the particles collided millions of miles away. It was hard to comprehend how something so small to watch could also be so inexplicably massive. The sun was exploding and what had been in orbit would soon be plunged into a chaotic state of disarray as the galaxy reset itself.

Heaven knows how it had come to this, yet somehow there was an ominous sense that it had been inevitable all along. After all, it had happened once before right? That's how we were all here? Waiting, watching and looking upwards into the abyss as the galaxy exploded with a wonderful and wicked bang.

Kennedy is an Amsterdam based producer making strides on his own self releasing music which is reminiscent of 90's techno and IDM yet futuristic and very much of the present. His latest release features two tracks of weaving, wandering melodies which dance and dazzle atop tripped percussion, breaks and beyond. Highly recommended.

C-thru - The Otherworld is a collection of introspective cosmic-leaning dance music that gives a healthy nod to the golden era of trance, ambient, and down-tempo from Austin, Texas based producer Jesse Edwards. Inactive for several years, these 10 tracks mark a new chapter for Jesse Edwards. Previous works include his well received psychedelic project, Red Morning Chorus, that included Boards of Canada amongst its fans. Edwards began his musical journey in the late 90s playing shoegaze and experimental music with Jessica Bailiff (Kranky). The pair collaborated on several albums together including works with Flying Saucer Attack, His Name is Alive, & Odd Nosdam (Anticon). 

The Otherworld will receive a physical release later this spring via a limited edition cassette tape and will be available worldwide digitally on June 2, 2023. Additionally under the pseudonym, Giovanni Bellofatto, Edwards has an album on the horizon with Dan Gentile (Time Zones) as Bellofatto & Gentile. Due on Prins Thomas's Horisontal Mambo, the dreamy balearic full length debut features collaboration with electronic music pioneer John Beltran on a handful of tracks and will surely be one to look out for. Lauter - Mystic (Original Mix)(CLIP)

Two times 45 minutes of original music by Cloudface and Powder. All recorded in Tokyo, Japan in early 2016. Brought to you on a C90 cream colored cassette by wichelroede.

We met Cloudface in 2015 at the Rewire Festival in The Hague, and spoke about the idea of working together. We stayed in touch, and in March 2016 the Vancouver artist went to visit Tokyo in search for new equipment and synthesizers. During this trip Cloudface performed a live set at INS Studio, Shibuya, where resident producer Powder (Moko Shibata) joined him during that late evening to play live as well.

Cloudface and Powder teamed up again, now for a wichelroede tape release. The recording of Cloudface’s live set from that special event covers side A (Dogen-zaka refers to the neighborhood where INS is located), while Powder takes on the B-side with previously unreleased tracks, presented here to you as an ongoing mix.

No need to describe how this sounds – If you are looking for exciting new electronic music, this is it! With releases on Mood Hut and Going Good, Cloudface has proven his singular sound within the ever growing electronic landscapes, while Powder can without any doubt be considered as one of the breakthrough artists of this year.

“Dogen-zaka MIX / 88QQ99II11” comes packed with a white cotton tote bag screen printed in four colors designed by Fallon, which is exclusively available with the tape. As always, the tape and goodie are vacuum sealed in a transparent A5 plastic bag.

Lorenz Linder, the Leipzig based DJ and producer better known as Mix Mup has consolidated a strong identity of records over his 20 years of releasing music, building a stellar reputation of crafting creative abstracted groovers and house music with minimal embellishments. We caught up Linder to discuss taking his Molto alias on the road, his passion for building musical based sculptures and his 3rd solo EP for Will Bankhead's The Trilogy Tapes. Reflecting his current November mood, this hour-long Truancy Volume demonstrates the off-kilter and rhythmically devious nature of a Mix Mup record to a tee. A familiar and gratifying territory for those who have regularly followed his solo work and collaborations alongside frequent co-conspirator Kassem Mosse, the mix opens with a track from Mix Mup's forthcoming Trilogy Tapes EP, before ruggedly detailing into tracks from Benjamin Brunn, unreleased Even Tuell, past Truancy Volume mixers Space Afrika and local Leipzig talent CFM.
