Eurisko was one of the first recursively self-improving systems and it had tremendous success in a role-playing game called Traveller TCS.  It gained a legendary status for its ability to easily win against any human players who challenged it.

Wide Blue Sound is a creator of high-end virtual instruments.

Simon Porter is a British composer writing for film and television. He also writes for commercials, trailers, theatre, interactive media and concert performance, drawing on a diverse range of influences accrued during more than 20 years as a drummer and percussionist. 

In the UK, his music can be heard on My Mediterranean with Adrian Chiles, Fifty Golden Years of Sport on BBC Two, and Pistorius Trial: The Key Questions, amongst others, whilst in the US, selected credits include the 2014 Miami Masters Tennis, WWE Smackdown, The Hunt with John Walsh, and Ultimate Fighting Champion. 

In 2016, he scored the advert Truffles from the new Passions campaign for Booking.com, which broadcast throughout the UK, Europe, Canada, Australia and New Zealand. His track Streets featured in the trailer for the 2015 thriller The Walk, starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Ben Kingsley, while another of his tracks, Pursuant, was used in the advertising campaign for the 2014 legal drama, The Divide, on WE tv. 

In addition to regular writing for television and independent film, Simon has worked on numerous campaign films for charities and NGOs in the UK, including those for The World Economic Forum, The Finance Innovation Lab, The National Trust, and Global Witness - the latter of which was screened at the TED Global conference in Rio de Janeiro in October 2014. In April 2014, Simon was commissioned by The Bridgeman Singers to write a choral anthem - set to George Herbert's 17th century text, Vertue - which premiered in London in November that year. As a music producer, Simon has worked with a number of UK-based singer-songwriters, most recently including Mike d'Abo (Handbags and Gladrags, Build Me Up Buttercup). Simon writes demo material, creates patches and carries out beta testing for music software developers such as Strezov Sampling, Wide Blue Sound, and Embertone. 

Simon writes from his home studio in southwest London, where he can also be found pursuing ethnomusicology, photography, compiling lists, and drinking tea, medium strength, with milk and no sugar. He was also one of the Pandemonium Drummers who performed at the ceremonies of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
