The crumbling wall felt course to the touch as he trailed his fingers across it, trying to find his way out of this damp, festering place. Somewhere far off he could hear the shouts of his so-called "friends", laughing and jeering at his expense. He had wanted to prove himself, show them he was worthy of being part of their group, but now, stumbling around in the darkness, he only felt stupidity and fear. They were no friends of his.

To celebrate reaching their 50th release, Manchester-based label Natural Sciences serve up a 20 track V/A with contributions from label mates old and new. As ever, it's a heady mix of mutant electronics, showcasing the diverse sounds that have continued to stand the label apart from the rest. From hip hop to electro, booty bass and industrial, Age In Decline features tracks from Mutant Joe, Galaxian, Prequel Tapes, DJ Frankie, and our pick from Finnish producer Sansibar.

PRZ reports for duty for the 9th release in the Hilltown Disco series with six no-nonsense, commanding, electro-cuts, delving into intergalactic territory with "Red Material".

Chateau Royal boss, Gal Perez has featured twice on Hilltown Disco's charity compilations, making Perez a familiar face on the label. Tel-Aviv based, PRZ spent over a year finely-tuning 'Red Material', flexing his rich and extensive production levels.

The 12" features some of the most intense and twisted, bass-heavy tracks the label has released to date. With fizzing drum machine beats, deep, space acid-lines, and the occasional disgruntled cyborg, Gal creates certified future-classics for the Hilltown Disco imprint.

WIDE Records is a London based Bass label with a global roster of 16 artists.

WIDE Records was founded in 2001, licensing critically acclaimed EPs by Debasser to Novamute and a UK Bass Mix CD by DJ Cutlass Supreme in 2003.  Following licensing agreements with GTI Recordings, Input-Output & Seed Records, WIDE Records released its debut digital EP, “The Old Skool EP” by DJ Cutlass Supreme in 2006.

2009 has seen WIDE Records embrace a whole  slew of new artists prepared to take the ever expanding UK Bass sound to new levels of low end experimentation and degradation. Check Pirate Soundsystem for starters…

We’ve also been moving outside of our green and pleasant land to meet, greet and embrace the musical deviance of our favourite U.S intellectual ghetto/junglist Murderbot. Closer to home we have the likes of  Doshy, T-Polar and WIDE bastions of bass Debasser, Smashback and DJ Cutlass Supreme all ready to release something a bit ridiculous…
