Description: Here are some tracks I produced in High School at KleptomaniaK. I wasn't allowed to go raves... I just would hang out at home and make these songs for myself and friends. :) I wanted to make music for films.

September is Resident's moth at our monthly Burner Happy Hour.  I got the short straw and got the opening slot.  I decided I didn't wanna play typical opener fashion and I knew my homie Carly would want me to play and have fun before her so I put together a bunch of newer tracks and tried to keep the energy up from the start.

FAM JAM FRIDAY

We had the absolute honor & privilege to perform at the Daybreaker SF: Peace Tour located at the breathtaking Grace Cathedral. This is the live 2-hour recording (Dancing Mandy is the first half, DJ Denise is the second half). Thank you for listening!

Playing Daybreaker at Grace Cathedral was incredibly meaningful for me on so many levels. Growing up singing in church choir was my first connection to music, so being able to DJ in a house of worship (in my wedding dress!) really brought my musical journey full circle. I thought deeply about what to play, and decided that it was really important to play soulful, uplifting house music, the music that unapologetically spreads love in the face of judgement, the music that was created (and still is) to bring fellowship to so many Black, gay, and other marginalized groups when organized religion did not support them. For so many, house music IS church — the only church where they feel 100% loved and accepted for who they are. Bringing these seemingly two diametric opposites under one roof was a powerful experience and I’m so grateful to Daybreaker and Grace Cathedral for making it happen. So as Jack said…Let There Be House!

I just am so humbled and in love with the Santa Cruz Burners. This Burner Happy Hour was just UHMAZING. So amazing in fact that I played for 2.5 hours straight...something I haven't done in a long time. But we were all dancing and having so much fun I couldn't stop! Thank you for your fire, your joy, your unabashed RADICAL self expression. It's special. I know it, you know it, we both know it. Believe me.
