In The Dark: A Goth-Dub Love Story

After a historic referendum, the Greek people voted "No" to the harsh austerity measures proposed by the IMF, ECB, and EC in the name of another Greek "bailout." Since 2007, the Greek people have suffered immensely under austerity, and this, as a Greek-American, has been heartbreaking, affecting many members of my own family. Unfortunately, even with the left-wing Syriza party in power, the cries of the Greek people were largely ignored by their creditors, and the bailout was accepted under even more harsh, even cruel terms. This brief collection of Greek Taverna music features heavy, distorted bouzouki riffs underpinning the kaimos, or "the "unrealized joys... unfilled dreams, every frustrated desire" of the Greek people. It's 25 minutes to represent the 25% unemployment rate of the Greek economy, with the last 5 minutes left intentionally quiet; a reflection of the unheard voices of resistance. I stand with the Greek people! Down with Austerity and down with the World's Creditors!
