Third Bass is a groove I originally wrote back in the late 80's and finally got around to recording it. Called Third Bass because it originally consisted of three bass track, one lead bass, one bass line and one playing chords. All three still exist in this track but the chord bass track is waaaay back in the mix.

Wil Brooks is an independent, self contained musician. Primarily a bass player but fluent enough on other instruments and vocals to get the point across. All of what you hear on this site will be Wil playing all instruments and vocals unless noted. Wil has been a dominate force on the Detroit scene for over 30 years, playing with countless local and a few national acts. A product of mentor, Earl Van Dyke, Wil plays everything from jazz to rock and everything in between. You can usually catch his act with one of two bands (Armada Soul or Groove Central) two weekends (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) out of each month at Flood's Bar and Grille in downtown Detroit.
