Welcome to our first artists from Tokyo: Drunken Kong. With their great releases on Christian Smith's label Tronic, D. Singh and DJ Kyoko had a regular place on Monika Kruse's stick and she was even happier when she received this demo EP from the duo. The big hype about this release began when Monika dropped the title track 'Chanted' in her boiler room set last summer and it became bigger and bigger since then.

It’s almost as if Techno is in Mark Reeve’s DNA. With the electronic pulses flowing through through his veins as the draw of the Techno Fatherland led Mark to settle in Germany, where he has since established his reputation on labels such as Cocoon, Drumcode, Bedrock, Soma and Trapez. A list that reads like the upper echelons of electronic music.

The natural extension of this journey was to start a label, called SubVision. SubVision has been quietly growing and maturing in approach, to reach this point - the launch of 'SubVision Various'. A forward thinking selection of all new cutting edge music where the SubVision roster grows to break new artists alongside established names at the top of their game. This diverse LP gives listeners and DJs a wide scope of options, as well as presenting an exciting snapshot of how the SubVision musical philosophy intends to grow.

After appearing on A-Sides Volume 4 at the start of 2016, Ilario Alicante now makes his full debut on the label. He has quickly established himself as a key player amongst a new crop of techno artists and truly is one of the brightest stars in the game. His skills behind the decks have seen him tour the globe with Cocoon, as well as appear at the likes of elrow, Lovefest and We Are FSTVL.

Opening with ‘Times’, the EP gets off to a flying start as the track rages straight into top gear, rolling through 6 minutes of pure power. This is a peak time tool that is set to be heard across dance floors worldwide this year. ‘Awakened’ you may have heard from Adam Beyer’s sets of late, a firm favourite which gets his much sought after seal of approval. Rampant syths and mesmerizing vocal hooks all make it one hell of a journey. ‘Sense’ is a more industrial affair, chunky basslines take your hand through the track as it charges on. It’s that classic deep Ilario Alicante sound we all know and love. The EP finishes off on ‘Apogeo’, with its hypnotic siren tones and acute percussion. One thing is for sure, Ilario Alicante is in a league of his own.

Hailing from Gloucester in England, Jaden Thompson is a 17-year-old producer with an already seriously credible string of followers, Including Desolat’s Loco Dice and Play It Say It’s Seth Troxler. Now freshly signed to the Martinez Brothers Cuttin’ Headz label, Thompson’s ‘All Day’ EP is already highly regarded by Pete Tong and has seen heavy support on his BBC Radio 1 show.

A crafty groove kick-starts the EP in ‘All Day’, layered with panning percussive hits and spiralling synths, before ‘Watch Ya Step’ opts for an infectious rhythm, driven by scuttling hats, off kilter toms and hypnotic vocals. ‘Some Of This’ then goes deeper with tripped out synths and twisted samples that roam freely within the confines of the jacking groove.

Matt Tolfrey’s ‘EC1 Mix’ of ‘All Day’ brings booming kick drums and shuffling hats into the equation, whilst further processing the intoxicating vocals that give the track its unique feel. Tolfrey then closes the package with his Chicago-leaning ‘Ghetto Mix’ of ‘All Day’, which thrives off its tightly produced drum machine workout infused with saturated toms and crisp snares.

Argentina’s Guti and Australia’s Morgan join forces once again, this time on the Martinez Brothers label Cuttin’ Headz with a five track EP entitled ‘This Must Be The Future’, including Mark Broom, Dan Ghenacia and Chris Carrier remixes. Established in 2014, the Martinez Brothers Cuttin’ Headz imprint has been going from strength to strength, with a busy release schedule littered with influential artists from across the house and techno scene including Jerome Sydenham and Steve Rachmad.

2017 sees the label take on powerhouse collaborators Guti and Morgan for a new collaborative EP, Guti’s fusion of influences shine through in his productions which have gained him support from the likes of Loco Dice, Luciano Ricardo Villalobos and Carl Cox, whilst Morgan has been gradually honing her raw stripped back sound in the studio and helping to run Guti’s Rompecorazones label. ‘This Must Be The Future’ opens up the EP with a subtle yet effective groove that meanders in time with a set of hypnotic effects and vocal samples with twisted acid bleeps. Next up, the Dan Ghenacia and Chris Carrier Edit rolls in with a headier groove laced with booming kicks and scuttling hats, delving into the depths with panning bleeps and dissipating synth noises.

Guti’s solo production ‘Her House’ goes in with a deep and Latin-tinged rhythm, slowly building euphoric samples and a vacillating sub before the Mark Broom remix takes a different route with a peak time twisted techno feel, laced with intoxicating chords and infectious snare fills. Lastly, closing the package is Guti’s digital only release ‘Airplane Jam’, in which an intoxicating 303 arpeggio loops alongside jittery and crafty percussion in typical Guti minimal aesthetic.
