In this episode I am once again joined by Dr. Ian Wickramasekera, Bön Buddhist practitioner and associate professor of Mindfulness Based Transpersonal Counseling at Naropa University. 

We learn how a divination from a Tibetan master radically changed the direction of Ian’s life, and how he encountered the man who would later become his teacher, Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche.

Ian recounts how, on an intense tummo meditation retreat, he attained to the Dzogchen spiritual realisation known as rigpa, and its profound consequences in his life.

Ian also discusses how he uses energy practices such as tsa lung and Tibetan yoga in his clinical practice to treat personality problems, substance abuse, and more.

this is ¶radio hummingbird's contribution to the Naviar Haiku music challenge volume #363. each week participants are asked to create a piece of music in response to a provided haiku poem (see above).

this piece has been recorded on a eurorack modular synthesizer in one single take. the only outboard effects utilised have been a singing wine glass and a cassette tape echo directly interfaced with the modular. a daw has only been used for a light mastering of the recording.

this week's poem is magic. and so is the track i tried to create in response to it. put it on endless looping and forget about time and space.......
