A protest song, speaking out against being bullied into sublimating your true psychological needs into conformity. As part of a trial-by-media society, our only true self is the person we speak to in the silence with our eyes sealed shut. So, maybe it's ok to ignore the platitudes, close your eyes, breathe, and just be there for yourself sometimes - maybe even have a little fun while you’re at it.
Vibe: being woke enough to realize cable TV news is just pro wrestling with skirts and suits.

A guitar duet becomes a vocal duet, becomes a DRUM DUET? Hold is a glimpse inside the dueling regions of your mind, feeling confident while you’re losing your nerve. This song exists in the moment where you catch a glimpse of yourself in the mirror after getting dressed for a night out, and immediately decide to change your outfit. It will all be fine once your ride arrives, so make sure you have your phone nearby.

It’s your birthday...Again. It comes around every year, if you’re lucky, but nobody seems to know what to do with ‘em. . We sit, we smile, we blow out the candles, but no matter how many people we share the cake with we’re on our own. How many more cakes does the future hold? That’s pretty heavy, and so is the song.
Vibe : uncomfortable, standing in line, waiting to walk up to the coffin at your uncle’s wake.

Genius
A song about narcissism, Genius introduces us to a man who is smart and strong, and he knows it. As time goes on, the walls start closing in. By the end of the story he yearns for a way out of the expectations of a persona he’s worked so diligently to manifest. After the song shrivels down to musical nothingness, our protagonist catches one final glimpse of his own reflection, and likes what he sees.

Walking down a quiet suburban street with your best friend in the middle of the night, you turn the corner and a police man sits parked in his car. You stop in your tracks, and lock eyes with him, as you gently run your fingers across the bulging bag of drugs in your pocket. Already covered in sweat, you pick up the pace and get yourself moving again. You hear his engine start and within secondly he drives up behind you, stalking his prey. Just as you make the decision to run, he drives off. You look your best friend in the eye and laugh harder than you’ve ever laughed before. The laughter is drowned out by the sound of a helicopter flying overhead. It hovers for a moment before it shines its spotlight directly on you.
