The beginning stages of an evolving cinematic, dark, dystopian synthwave track mostly inspired by Final Fantasy lore, hence the name "No Dawn for Phoenix" being a reference/nod to the series as a whole. The instrumentation to this is complex and future versions will include guitar parts. Includes orchestral segments, including a (MIDI) Choir. This track is all MIDI and does not include any audio files, samples, or third-party sounds besides some plugins such as Xfer Record's Serum 2 and some LABS + orchestral portions from Spiftire Audio. Otherwise, there are several stock plugins used for this track, such as the Hollywood Haze drum track, one of my favorite stock e-drum machines present in the DAW.

My remix for Max Cooper's Rule 110 from the remix album of 100 Hundred Billion Sparks. Max used my vocals on the original track, cutting them up and rearranging them, so it was a lot of fun for me to have the opportunity to do the same in turn with the completed track. 

For my version, I decided to bring to it my experience as a live performer by re-recording synth parts with live instruments. There’s harmonium replacing the synth chords, piano, violin scrapes, live recorded snare and kick and a completely new vocal I sing over the top. I even recorded the sound of the wheels on my chair, swivelling and rolling up and down a concrete floor for parts of the rhythm.
