Different form, same attitude. 

Times go back slowly to feel a bit more familiar, it takes some patience to understand where things are truly going, but I can only be thankful that you stayed around this project all this time. A pleasure to be on this little journey together.

This set is a compilation of my favorite productions over the last months, including releases in labels such as @LOKDbasel, @moodfamily and some inclusions from my upcoming album that will be out on @lautundluise in 2022.

As a small label with a passion for musical diversity, it is difficult to put into words what an artist like Arutani means to us. But one thing can be said with conviction, Gianni is a wonderful friend, an even greater person and as an artist he has influenced us like no other.

thanks for having me at acidbogen. this morning was a real blast and i enjoyed every second of it. alas, there was a limiter somewhere in the recording chain of this set, compressing it into a still very delicious three hour waveform sausage. enjoy.

▌I How did you prepare this mix and what was your main inspiration?
I think preparation begins, subconsciously, the moment I agree to make a mix. Once that seed is planted in the soil of my mind, ideas swirl and I am sensing into which direction I want to go right up until I record it, and hopefully the fruit turns out ripe and sweet! I decided to go for a more upbeat dance mix, to usher in the summer. I am, as always, inspired by many genres and timelines - right now I'm loving everything from 'celestial' house, minimal, breakbeat, indie, and included lot of tracks from South Africa/with African rhythms. As a poet, I am a sucker for lyrics. Also, it doesn't matter if a track was released yesterday or 10 years ago, if I feel it in my soul its always current to me.

▌II How would you describe your style?
Eclectic, poetic, fun and deep.

▌III How do you make use of technology?
Someone once said to me, 'technology is like an angel'. I interpreted that as, machines can can be, in a poetic way of thinking, animated by the energy with which you go about using them. You 'feed' them energy, and that energy amplifies. I once had a silly but profound moment with my musical setup during a period when I felt disconnected from being a DJ and all the ego and stereotypes, and didn't feel like touching the cdjs much. Late one night I turned them on, and just watched them glowing back at me, and that kind of melted my heart, as if it were some sort of spaceship, and I thought 'right okay, what is my spaceship about, what frequency do I want to transmit?' And the answer came immediately, that it is all about love and connection. Reminds me now of a wonderful track by New Jackson... 'put the love in it.'

Lemonella presents United We Rise Podcast Nr. 175

Für die Ewigwachgebliebenen zum Feierabendbier, für die Frühaufsteher als Seelenfutter zum Wochenbeginn: Montagssorbet mit Laut & Luise. Alles erlaubt, was gut tut und Gedanken kreisen lässt, nur der Name ist Programm: cremig, fluffig und ganz schön weich.

Weich wird man wohl – allmählich und zwangsläufig – nach sechzig Malen oder fünf Zigjahren Montagssorbet. Da erfreuen wir uns am Händedruck und nicken am Kopf ganz affirmativ, wenn drei zierliche Buchstaben so ziemlich die Fußstapfen eines fantastischen Jahresabschlusses verzeichnen: @RSS Disco stehen am Schäumer, denn heute gibt's Sorbet mit Mélange à trois.

Hilary Mertaugh is a DJ and childbirth nurse based in San Francisco, California. With her roots in the analogue world of folk music, Hilary played old time fiddle music for square dances for many years before discovering her intoxicating love for downtempo electronic dance music. Hilary combines her love of organic and downtempo moods with more driving tech house beats to create her smooth and sensual sound.  She has shared stages in the US and Europe with such artists Caleesi, Sarah Kreis, Billy Caso, Oceanvs Orientalis, Satori, Gab Rhome, Bedouin, and many others.

Gerade in Kalifornien gibt es seit ein paar Jahren eine stetig wachsende Downtempo Szene. Eine meiner liebsten Entdeckungen ist hier definitiv Hilary Mertaugh aus San Franzisco. Ihre Mixe haben immer diese gewisse eigene Handschrift, sind perfekt abgemischt und stets sind die Stimmungsbögen ein Traum.

Hilary ist in einer äußerst musikalischen Familie mit der riesigen Folkmusic-Plattensammlung ihrer Eltern aufgewachsen … (hört man ihrem Sound durchaus auch an). Bevor sie endgültige dem elektronischem Downtempo verfallen ist, hat Hilary jahrelang Geige für Square Dance gespielt. Hierher rührt glaube ich auch ihr perfektes Rhythmus-Gespür.

Für sound(ge)cloud hat sich Hilary mächtig ins Zeug gelegt und uns eine über 2 stündige Geschichte zusammengestrickt, vollgepackt mit der kalifornischen Sonne. Hilary es ist mir ein große Freude dich in meiner Reihe zu wissen und tausend Dank für deine  umwerfende Musik.

Und meinen Hörer wünsch ich einen guten Start in die OpenAir Saison … dass der Sommer sonnige Momente für euch bereit hält. Euer Uwe
