A song I wrote and recorded back in 2009 as a tribute to the late great guitarist Michael Hedges and the legacy he left behind

Legacy

Michael Hedges with David Crosby and Graham Nash singing Neil Young's "Helpless" and "Ohio" at Oberlin College, OH. Year is unknown. Michael Hedges was a longtime fan of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young and would cover their songs in his early career playing for movie goers in their queue at the New Varsity Theater in Palo Alto. 
Years later, fate found Michael at a gas station where David Crosby happened to be. Recognizing David, Michael introduced himself and asked Crosby if he wanted to hear a few songs. Blown away by Michael's sound, Crosby and Graham would occasionally collaborate with Michael including singing backup vocals on Michael's musical rendition of the E.E. Cummings poem "I Carry Your Heart" on his 1990 album, Taproot. 
After the 9/11 attacks, Crosby, Stills and Nash played a cover of My Country Tis of Thee on national TV using a musical track recorded by MIchael.

I'm Will Houston and I play guitar pickin' music. 
 
The modern fingerstyle guitar genre works by using both traditional fingerpicking and strumming techniques intertwined with more outlandish techniques such as harmonic string slaps, two-handed string tapping and percussive hits to the guitar body to turn the instruments into a compositional multi-tool. 

My music is influenced by fingerstyle players like Andy McKee, Michael Hedges, Bruce Cockburn and Leo Kottke and others like Kurt Vile and the Violators, Crosby, Stills, and Nash, Iron & Wine and The Beatles.
