Fusion Beats 2015 FFEJ Redu

Rob Martin, who we knew as Levi Tate (or levitate), was a regular at the Starbucks that myself and several other fortunate souls were blessed with meeting and getting to know in our time working together as partners at Starbucks in 2008/2009.  Levi was new to being on the streets of Atlanta, after enduring some hardships in life.  The Starbucks is in Colony Square in midtown where several of the city's radio stations are located.  We had lots of homeless in the area but none quite like Levi.  He was the most respectful, clean and aware street person I have ever met.  His jokes never quite made a complete circle, but he tried and he was an interesting guy.  He met a producer at one of the radio stations in the building who heard his story and decided he wanted to help.  Levi, knew if he was going to be homeless, he should probably move out west to CA.  The producer decided to help cut a CD for Levi so he could sell them on the street & save up to buy a bus pass.  I decided to contribute and buy his CD.  I believe Levi was robbed one night, sleeping in a park as he was not the best at being homeless from what I remember and I'm not sure if he ever made it to CA.  I thought I had lost his CD but found it the other day and thought I would post it.  Levi made an impact on myself and my colleagues and friends.  We had a lot of celebrity types that would grab coffee on their way upstairs to their radio interviews and one day, Supper Nanny was ordering when Levi was outside.  She ponied up and bought him some food and another round of coffee, good on her.  I often speak of Levi as he helped make the grind of those days in my life a bit less, well, of a grind.  Here's to you Levi, wherever you are.
