From the grassroots level to the national scale, Women’s sport in Australia is on the rise.

Earlier this year the AFL will start a women’s competition in 2017 is set to promote interest and increase competition within the female sports market.

But despite the advancements, challenges remain for women competing in an industry traditionally dominated by male players, staff, and supporters.

From participation numbers and broadcast rights to sponsorship deals and salaries, the game is rapidly changing for females in the sports industry.
