Central Processing Unit, commonly referred to as CPU Records, is an independent British record label, founded in Sheffield in 2012 by Chris Smith, and notable for bridging contemporary electronic music with the early Sheffield Bleep era, and being at the forefront of contemporary electro music. Distributed by Kudos Records London UK. The label uses a binary catalog number system for its releases which means that it will only allow for a total of 256 releases. Many of the label's releases are mastered in Smith's Computer Club Sheffield studio. In 2019 the label launched their own studio filter module called The CPU Filter, modelled on the classic Roland Jupiter-6 filter. The label is also parent to the sub label Computer Club records which released electronic music from 2013 to 2018.

Mario Ortega, a Valencian-born DJ better known as  @waveletar, is an electro enthusiast and full supporter of only-vinyl sets who started playing records about ten years ago after having been influenced by 90s labels such as Warp, Skam, and later ones as Touchin’ Bass, or SCSI-AV. From that moment on, he became a member of Hypnotica Colectiva up until now, granting him the opportunity to play along with some of the big names in the scene namely Carl Finlow, Boris Divider, and Umwelt among others. @doragray is part of The X-Rust Organization a non-profit organization concentrating on keeping electronic music and the culture around it alive and kicking in Finland.

Dora is seeker of harmonies and emotional or psychophysiological effect in music. She is into electro, techno and breakbeat but it is not unusual to hear influences of idm, house and ambient music too.

Techno, Dora eventually developed a passion for Electro, as well as more leftfield IDM and acid sounds. Her sets are influenced by her love of film and popular culture and always aim to tell a story.

This @DarkScienceElectro label highlight is for legendary Dutch record label @Clone-nl - There is legitimately nothing that I could even say about the label that hasn't already been said about this 31-year-old mainstay. They have released some of the most important music in Electro music and their represses have made timeless music available to new generations of music lovers. We are forever indebted to Serge for all his hard work since starting the label in 1991. There cannot be a history of Electro without covering the major contributions of this Dutch imprint. Clone's impact reaches beyond just Electro music into Dub, Techno, IDM, House, and more. For the purposes of this mix, you could guess that my target was the more Electro-centric cuts from the discography.
