[Work in Progress] Marx-and-the-Machine

Very much a work in progress.  This is just a beginning sketch of the idea.  All the beats/sounds were done inside Maschine as well as the arrangement.  I normally make the beats etc in Maschine and then export to Ableton for arrangement, mixing, FX, etc. but I was working on this while in a coffee shop and my laptop's battery was low, so I just did a quick export out of Machine to get something done and put up.

Needs lots of work. Bu I like where it is headed.

[Work in Progress] Big Buisness

This is a sketch of something I am working on exploring downtempo drum & bass with some melodic elements.  174 BPM.  The percussion elements are very straight and have no variation to them as of yet.  This sort of represents the beginning and end of the track (roughly).  For the middle section after the build-up, it will go into a darker more bass-heavy heavy section and depart a bit from the melodic elements.  I don't think I will be doing a traditional long drum "break" without any bass and instead probably will incorporate a few smaller breaks alongside the bassline.  The bassline for the middle section will be darker and a bit more aggressive.  Then a breakdown and buildup to re-connect with the original melodic theme.

One thing I noticed is that at the end of the breakdown as it is building up, the mix went into the red and resulted in some distortion.  Will need to fix that in future mastering & mix-downs.
