I recorded bats under the Congress Street bridge in Austin. I recorded with a Zoom F4, an AT8035 Audio-Technica shotgun mic with a RØDE blimp and dead wombat, and a RØDE Mini-Boompole. I recorded at 192 kHz sample rate and 24 bits per sample. Then I pitch-shifted the audio down -12 semi tones and boosted the high end in the EQ so more of the normally-inaudible bat sounds would be audible. The first 7 seconds and the last 5 seconds are the unprocessed versions of the recording for comparison.

I am a recent graduate of the University of Texas at Austin with a Ph.D. in English and a concentration in rhetoric and digital literacies. I am currently program coordinator of the DWRL (http://www.dwrl.utexas.edu/). My research happens at the intersection of rhetoric, technology, and food.
