Autumn leaves

Willem Spee (guitar and vocals) plays songs (under his stage name Bald Bill) that in many cases have inspired him throughout his musical life. From his past as a bass player and singer in the Chicago-blues tradition, he has mainly immersed himself in the Americana repertoire in recent years. The guiding principle is that the music he plays must have a "raw edge". Names like Johnny Cash, Tom Waits, Dave von Ronck and Ry Cooder come to mind. Part of his repertoire are also a number of unaccompanied songs in the English folk and the American "field and holler" tradition.
