Closer To The Ground Than The Sky (Claud & Will Gibson)

This song was written in Ireland at the home of Clannad legend, Pol Brennan. It remained unrecorded for years though I'd occasionally play it at folk sessions and gigs. 
The recording came about as a result of randomly playing the song at the home my friends, Jon Crosse and Rita Dobo - I was actually singing to their then little  daughter, Leelou. 
 Jon overheard it and immediately suggested we go down into his basement studio and get it down. It was one of those effortless sessions where everything seemed to come together, with Jon bringing his own expansive production skills to the table. 
  I then gave the track to Mark Gardener of Ride to do the final mix.  It ended up being quite epic but we love the outcome.
