In a departure from my usual kind of music, 'Maximum Hyperdrive' is in fact a soundtrack piece - a segue if you will!

Taken from music I wrote and recorded for an animated short, each part of the piece was written to sit comfortably and reflect the visuals happening at that particular moment.

Instead of editing the various themes into separate pieces, I though it would be interesting to keep it in its entirety, as originally composed.

Musically, it's multi inspired - from the film directer John Carpenter's self-created soundtracks to AC/DC!

'Ain't It Cool' had been a demo performed and written with my 'Dukes of New York' bandmate, and all-round good chum Philip Bradbrook. The original demo had just acoustic guitar and bass on it (recorded live and recorded quickly!), so it became a challenge to add some vocals, drums, and other instruments to it - Mellotron solo anyone?...
