I used the Battu kit because it had a good variety of sounds and started by putting in the kick on every downbeat. That sounded pretty ok on its own. Then I added some new rhythms with one of the tinnier sounds, and added the conga for a small amount of pitch variation. I tried to make the transition between the intro and the middle fairly cohesive, but I may have failed. Then I threw an open cymbal as the finale.

Drum Loop (Project 1)

For this track I used these sounds:
A thumped trashcan
Snapped fingers
A flicked hairbrush
A squeezed windex bottle
A bottle top being removed
A glass of water being dinged
Air passing over a bottle top
A bottle of Advil (TM) being shaken

Project 2: Rhythmic Noise

This is a drum and bass track. I used a synth with 2 saw waves. Then I sidechained it with my bass drum, and added a filter and an EQ so that the sound of it would change slightly throughout the track.

2 wavetable synths over a iv - I - IV -I progression. I used some filters on each of my instruments, some of which were just from the ableton presets, and added some reverb.
