Thumping Puppets "Candy Stripe Girl"

Unfinished studio composition from May, 1993. Used as part of the backing tape for Songs of the New Erotics performance "The Misery Bag: Ergotic Concert No.1", presented at The Music Gallery, Toronto, Nov. 1993. This is dubbed from cassette. The original composition was created with Cubase sequencer running on an Atari 1040STe and playing an Akai S950 sampler (both the Atari and the S950 still reside in my studio and still run fine, though rarely pressed into service).

Composed, performed, and recorded by W.A.Davison and Dustin Noah Atlas, Toronto, April/May, 2001. This was originally part of a collaborative project with D.N.A. which never really came to fruition. A number of songs and jams were recorded but "Magnetic" is the only track which came reasonably close to being finished (the mix presented here is just a quick dub to cassette we made at the time). I've since decided this track fits quite clearly within the catalog of my long-running Third-Eye Tractor project (hopefully, Dustin won't mind being absorbed into T.E.T.).

Thumping Puppets - The Fat Lady Of Limbourg

W.A.Davison is a multidisciplinary artist who has been producing various forms of experimental art and music for over 35 years. As a composer and improvisor, Davison has performed solo (as The Bim Prongs, M.Stactor, Songs of the New Erotics, Th W rbl r, Panic Engines, etc.), in his own ensembles (Urban Refuse Group, Six Heads), and in various collaborations (with members of CCMC, Nihilist Spasm Band, AMM, MSBR, irr.app.(ext.), Nurse With Wound, and many others). His work has been presented at festivals such as TodaysArt (Den Hague, NL), Art Basel (Basel, Switzerland), Electric Eclectics (Meaford, ON), Spleencoffin (Baltimore, USA), Dictaphonia Fest (Gainesville, USA), Colour Out Of Space (Brighton, UK), and The Whitney Biennial (New York City, USA), as well as at various events in Toronto, Montreal, Halifax, Quebec City, London (Can.), London (UK), Paris, Berlin, New York, San Francisco, Tokyo, Buenos Aires, Stockholm, and Sydney. Davison's recorded work has been distributed on small labels, through informal networks around the world.
