Hi, this is something I’ve had on the burner for over 20 years. It’s my opus to my wife. One of the last songs I wrote before going into 20 years of hiatus but thanks to Louises class one little jog and I found a verse to finish this song.
There’s a couple more that are coming. I found an old cassette again thank you Louise!

Maria Part I

Yeah, member of the club…written after Louise’s Truth blog. It was days after getting out of the hospital and I couldn’t shake how I had reacted. I’ve read articles on how people, usually men, rationalize a heart attack as heartburn, vowing I would never do that! But it’s like Courage, ya never know until faced.

Starting to record songs written over 20 years ago, in another lifetime. 
Turned 66 in June and my mom passed of Alzheimer’s at the age of 96, had ￼a heart attack, ￼was gifted with a songwriting class with Louise Goffin by a brother/friend who knew better, bought some cheap gear and here I am. Life has definitely given me stuff to write about that’s for sure.￼
The one thing I’ve learned from Louise’s class is to just do it. Hate to plug Nike, but, just do it. Turn off the critic and just write, just sing, create for the sake of being!
OK, I’m 66 and I think the realization of this class at this time in life is to just turn off the negative. Shine a light on what you love to do and hopefully do it. My voice is cracking. I don’t have the range going through some of these cassettes, I’ve re-discovered, thank you Louise,￼ To re-experience￼ these songs￼ decades later, is such a blessing. 
I apologize for the really rough nature of these recordings, but I’m just trying to get them out there into the universe. I’ll work on these later. I’m just excited to rediscover and actually semifinish these after so long.

You never know what life is going to bring, but just start writing when you’re young and make it a habit, a life-blood, like breathing, oh, and compound interest, use it and just see what happens!
