The public is invited to observe sunrise and sunset associated with the day of the autumnal equinox among the standing stones of the UMass Amherst Sunwheel on Monday, September 22 at 6:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. These events mark the astronomical change of seasons when days and nights are nearly equal in length in the Northern Hemisphere.   I wrote a song about it in the Cybernetic Fusion™ style: ancestral traditions carried into new electronic environments, layered with percussion and rhythmic ideas drawn from science, philosophy, and mathematics.

WE ARE THE STORM

October's full Harvest Moon looms large over the eastern horizon at sunset tonight!  This October's full moon is known as the Harvest Moon, owing to its proximity to the autumn equinox — when farmers would labor under the light of the moon to gather their crops long before artificial light was invented.

Golden light on the horizon glows,
Harvest Moon in the autumn sky grows.
Fields of amber, swaying in the breeze,
Under lunar beams, the night's at ease.
