"Dad was a jazz trumpet player, mom a jazz singer, and I'm married to multi-platinum vocalist Randy Jones. Mom and dad met at a Louis Armstrong concert. Dad has hung out with his idol Harry James. And Randy has chatted into the morning hours in the Village with  Cecil Taylor. So there is a pedigree there. I have just looked to stretch the boundaries of the form of recorded Jazz."
