In the age of TikTok, “Bigroom” and “Sensual” may present as much a juxtaposition as “Techno” and “Underground”. Being never the one to shy away from building bridges, DJ Gigola situates her upcoming EP “Bigroom Sensual” somewhere in the empty space between early 2000s technoid sounds and the harder, faster rhythm of a new generation of dancers – both of which fill big rooms in their own distinct ways.
 
In a series of EPs, the Berlin-based DJ and producer envisions a type of Bigroom that blends the feeling of 2001-2010 Trance Techno, minimalist swaying Tech-House and the current wave of ubiquitous high-energy sound, united by her signature soundscape and the meandering subline of her caressing vocals.
 
Caught between the lines, the launch of the “Bigroom Sensual” series is an attempt at reconciliation, mediating the supposed disconnect between Gen-Z Rave and Boomer Tech-House where both come best together: on the dancefloor, repurposing the big room as a place of reunion.

The A-side starts with title track ‘The Beat’, bodied toms footing the rhythm while high-pitched percussion keeps an irresistible groove above. With an expertly sampled, playful vocal, Kiss’ ‘The Beat’ is another unmistakable club hit that will effortlessly find its way into the peak time. The B-side hosts ‘Midnight Club’, which features more organic drums mixed with a classic House vocal and zippy strobe-light-inducing synths, closing out William Kiss’ debut on Radio Slave’s flagship label in his signature drummy style.

Having won support from Laurent Garnier, HAAi, Call Super, Robert Hood, and more, William Kiss has been going from strength to strength. With an obsession for rhythm and groove, Melbourne born Producer and DJ William Kiss certainly has a foothold on the ever evolving sound that is Techno. 

With a decisive focus on percussive elements, rumbling baselines and main floor melodies, William aims to create music that simply turns heads. Stemming from a percussion based background, The complexities and the sometimes understated simplicities of Techno have always struck a chord with him, fascinated by the raw power and emotion that can be conveyed through such basic elements, and the ability for such records to remain “timeless”.

Drawing influence from all ends of the musical spectrum, William intends to stay rhythmically true to himself by constantly experimenting, evolving and never becoming too comfortable, all while maintaining the relentless passion and drive to create.
