“Being savage!”

FloridaEve is inspired by one of the computer game production project that Joyce has been involved in (as a composer), which is called "Florida Eve”, while the compositions are mainly constructed with synthesizer and drum set for the demo game. This track inherited the features of demo music, using electric violin with pedal box (including Distortion, Delay & Multi-effect) as the main voice, and combining with synthesizers and electronic drum pad. 

This track can be used in a modern setting game, such as 1st/3rd person shooting games.

“Have you see a Mare running into your dream?”

To compose for a game in fantasy setting (mostly applied in RPG and the other adventures game), harp is the most ideal choice as the main voice for the music. This track provides the mysterious and magical atmosphere for the adventure gameplay. Mare can be interpreted not only as nightmare, but also as the female horse. The rhythmic pattern of the bass is portraying horse galloping.

“Wish you a bright year!”

 A track composed under the theme of Chinese New Year. As a Chinese style track, Dizi, Pipa and Erhu are used as the main voices, and accompanied with synthesizers, drum set, and Chinese percussion kit, which provides an energetic feeling for audience to welcome the new year.

Music for video games is mostly loop, while this track involves 4 different parts with the form of ABCDA, which is very suitable for used as a track for rhythm game.

“I wait for the first lightning.”

The human voice is one of the most spiritual voices. Singing voice is not uncommon in modern games settings, and most of composers are willing to use the human voice as a medium to express emotions. This piece uses the ethereal soprano voice as the main tone, and the majestic and powerful voice is accompanied by the mournful piano sound. After post-production, the power of the vocal part is accentuated.

This track can be used as the theme music for a specific chapter of the game.

Qu Yuan is a poet remembered in connection to the supposed origin of the Dragon Boat Festival. Villagers carried their dumplings and boats to the middle of the river and desperately tried to save Qu Yuan after he immersed himself in the Miluo, because of the failure from his lifelong political dream, but were too late to do so. However, in order to keep fish and evil spirits away from his body, they beat drums and splashed the water with their paddles, and they also threw rice into the water both as a food offering to Qu Yuan's spirit and also to distract the fish away from his body. 

It is a joke about the Dragon Boat Festival: What is the last word spoken by Qu Yuan? Blublublublu….~~~
