the path leading to Willowspeak’s current footing has been nothing short of adventurous. with roots in rural upstate new york (the finger lakes region), a bustling music scene was not at his fingertips. 

the journey began when david hudson’s grandfather began teaching him trumpet and baritone as a boy. though it was the doorway, the passion for music was ignited when his father handed him a bass guitar for christmas at age thirteen. that day, he played the thing almost literally until his fingers bled. 

a few years down the road, stumbling upon a digitech loop pedal, he soon found the joy of expressing all the ideas in his head like a band-in-a-box with live looping. initially a practice tool to learn with, it became experimentation at local coffee shops where he started testing grander soundscapes and arrangements on the fly.
