Virus is an Argentine rock band, founded in 1980 in the city of La Plata. Virus played an absolutely fundamental role in the current new wave of the 80s in South America along with other bands like Miguel Mateos / ZAS and Soda Stereo. Since its inception as one of the most emblematic numbers of the fun music of the early '80s, they starred in the Argentine musical renewal that occurred with the end of the dictatorship and the return to democracy in 1983.

His ironic and funny lyrics, in which puns criticized national rock, his compositions with complex and catchy arrangements that invited people to have fun, his modern and powerful new wave sound and his peculiar aesthetics on stage, made the band possesses a definite personality within the Argentine rock of the time, that was very "solemn" and "stiff". For this reason, they managed to capture both praise and criticism from the mass media. His critics called them "scandalous" because of the transgression imposed by the group, as in the letters referring to sex.

Por esta razón, lograron acaparar tanto elogios como críticas de los medios masivos. Sus críticos los tildaron de «escandalosos», por la transgresión impuesta por el grupo, como en las letras en referencia al sexo.

Algunos de sus temas más conocidos son: "Imágenes paganas", "El Probador", "Wadu Wadu", "Volátil", "El rock en mi forma de ser", "Superficies de Placer", "Hay que salir del agujero interior", "Una Luna de Miel en la Mano", "Amor descartable", "Danza de Bengalas", "Sin disfraz", "Pronta entrega" y "Pecados para dos", entre otros tantos.

La banda estaba conformada en sus comienzos por Federico Moura (voz), Marcelo Moura (teclados, segunda voz y coros), Julio Moura (guitarra), Ricardo Serra (guitarra), Mario Serra (batería) y Enrique Mugetti (bajo). No obstante, luego habrían cambios de integrantes.
