A poem recital on "Let My Eyes Speak (A Poem To My Father)", written on the 21st of June 2013, in conjunction with this year's Fathers' Day.

LET MY EYES SPEAK (A POEM TO MY FATHER)

Pa.
It is very hard
to say
"I love you".
Words felt so heavy
Weighed with a lifelong silence
Rusty lips, hopelessly creak
But not my eyes:
Eyes who did
All the talking,
All these years.

The only thing I hope, 
The next time we meet
When our eyes cross again
Is that
you will see
The warmth of a man
In these once cold eyes,
Once spoke nothing
But blind resentment
and foolishness as a child.

Eyes that now speak
Of the ways of this world;
Describing the flavour
Of imperfection,
And of grace,
And in making the best of everything
just to live another day.
Eyes that try
to tell you
of a Love I found out there,

Who taught me
to understand everything.

Still a long way, Pa...
But at least,
this is a start.
Let my eyes speak.
