Unbeyond Anthologies are pleased to present LUCID’s solo debut on the label in the form of her new EP, “Found Footage”.

Opening on a stark and desolate note with “on a dark and stormy night” that sets the tone for what is to come, this project mixes ghastly deathstep atmospheres and production with a thrilling retro futuristic horror theme. Songs such as “Good Intentions” and “Foreshadowing” throw their weight around with devastating impact, a seamless blend of old and new sonic textures.

“ALARM” slows down the pace with heaving sound design and wailing melodies, the tempo mirrored by the title track with its sinuous growls and anthemic synthwave leads. “Survive” contains frazzled flows and dizzying trap percussion, while the closer “Midnight (Credits)” ends on a delightfully ghoulish downtempo drop.

“My first EP since ‘BLOODSHED’ in 2021, and with a much more in-depth tracklist and theme. Speaking of, when starting the title track, I was very into GREYLOCK, an online analog horror with some found footage segments, with the title track directly themed to tape 10 of the series. The more general musical ideas and tone started finding their way into more of my projects of the time and continued to be fleshed out until I collected the songs and made the theme more concrete.” said LUCID. “Although not personally attached to me like my albums, I do find this to be a very important step in my music, so I hope it shows. The illusive Indiji doesn’t release too much music, but when he does it’s with great effect. His signature sound is timeless and his music is featured in many sets long after release. Spring Tank and Mashup are both very much sought after and anticipated. So it’s a pleasure to finally get the nod from him to release these tracks to the public. So without further ado they are set for release and ready to rumble. 


Track 1. 
‘Spring tank’ is a militant dub influenced stepper. Heavy baselines lead the track forward and shake down the house where ever it’s played. It’s a no nonsense draw for weapon for a DJ who needs to step things up and take a crowd to the next level. Delayed vocals and fx round this one up as it displays that in this case less certainly is more. 

Track 2.
‘Mashup’ starts off like an old jungle tune and lends vocal samples from a cult classic British movie. It’s from the drop where this track takes on a new age shape. The Bassline twists and turns like no other, churning your gut and tearing of ya chest as it reverberates from bar to bar in true sound system fashion. The infectious hook and pads bring the musicality to what would other wise be full a sonic display of heavy stepping beats and bass.

‘PDX’ starts with sinister atmospheric windy tones, sweeping you through the intro with horror film tension. The drop and all that follows is incredible animated and full of intricate sound design that engulfs you from all directions. The wobbly gut churning bass will satisfy the bass head in you, as stuttering elements galvanise the drum track, leaving not a single moment in the arrangement without energy and movement.
‘Juggernaut’ hits you in the chest like a truck as the bass drops. Its vocal lead up makes you poised for what about to come and sets the tone of the track. Like PDX, the quality in sound design in AAA class and effortlessly adds to the soundscape JFO has a clear talent for. Another banger for any DJ who picks it up, as it crosses over perfectly into the many subcultures within dubstep right now.
JFO is set to be a rising force in the dubstep and one to keep your eyes on.
