Wiltron Smith is a Iowa based MC that isn't your ordinary hip hop artist, nor is he chipping off the stereo typical repeated sound that people have become familiar with the Midwest. As a matter of fact, Wiltron Smith doesnʼt even touch that market with his music. Instead, he goes for a heavy hitting commercial sound with lyrics that tell vivid stories thatʼll let any listener dive into a whole world of imagination that can be perceived in several ways. With that said, you would think that Smith had to have come from some sort of musical background. And to be honest, the guy had never even picked up a microphone or any type of musical instrument in his younger days of growing up. But by the time he did, he stuck with a method that seems to be working highly in his favor today. That method actually came from a simple answer when Derrick... I mean Wiltron Smith asked a cousin of his how to write a rap. He simply replied “Itʼs just like writing poetry”. Since Wiltron Smith started writing his poetry, one thing quickly lead to another. Next thing you know, Smith was writing to commercial beats and instrumentals all in the name of fun, when all the sudden a particular thought crossed his mind. Why not live a life of making music? With that mentality and determination, Smith started to network around the cities of Cedar Rapids, Waterloo, and Iowa City which would later lead him to a local producer's named Two Gang Members.
