Three Sketches for Bass Trombone

Frokko 5 was written for Tim De Maeseneer, Solo Horn player at Brass Band Willebroek.
For his first solo CD, Tim asked me to write the final piece of the album and he wanted "a challenge, a rollercoaster, a technical tour de force that will amaze the audience so they can't help but stand up when it's finished".
The piece is my ode to one of the great composers of the 20th century: Sergej Prokofiev.

The Eagle's Flight

Written for Sandor Hendriks and the "Limburgs Trombone Ensemble"
Dedicated in memory of Frans Theeuwen, a classical trombone player with a very fond love for jazz.
Hence the classical beginning, the jazz waltz, and the solemn ending with the heart machine going flat, thanking life and music in memory of.
All 8 voices (alto, tenor and bass) played by Carlo Mertens aka BoneBeast :-)
