The News is the first track on the CD Two Way Traffic One Lane Road. It has a nice feel to it with the banjo ( Wynn Gogol )and fiddle ( Sarah Tradewell ) and the sweetness that only a pedal steel ( Ray Mohr ) can add. And that is my good friend Randall Cook singing with me.

This song is a co-write with my good friend Derek Peach.  Derek is a published poet and will write a poem in a card that he sends out at Christmas.  The lyrics in Christmas Beach is one of those ... I worked out a melody and it works.  The cello and pedal steel complement the words and images

Traveling is always an interesting thing to do ... but no matter where I am going or for how long, I am really on my way home, as soon as I leave.  The only question is how big the circle will be.

If there is a song on this record that tells the story of how I see the world around me ... this is it. I modelled it after John Prine's ' You've Got Gold ' and happy to say that out loud.  Prine is a legend.  As to the story ... I was waiting for the bus a few mornings back ... counting cars ... of the hundred or so that passed me ... THEY ARE ONE TO A CAR BUT DON'T GO VERY FAR BUT I KNOW THAT THEY CAN PAY ..... and so it goes

My set lists include covers and originals in the folk / roots genre.  I play solo and also am one third of the folk trio Clancy's Front Porch   I recently finished a recording project, and the album ( Two Way Traffic One Lane Road ) is set for release shortly.   I do songwriting workshops and have a webpage ( www.reverbnation.com/randomspacecollaboration )for that purpose but it also serves as a link to music and videos and as such has some works in progress and studio tracks from my CD.
